Geno has almost 100 passing yards more per game than Kyler, almost 30 more 1st downs thrown for, and a better comp% but gotta focus in on the RATE stat which is a made up formula that states Derek Carr is better than Kyler and Pat Mahomes is the 19th best QB in the NFL behind Justin Fields.

Smith is good for sure but with DK, JSN and Lockett it's not all that surprising they throw the ball more than we do. I would actually argue Seattle is underperforming based on the talent on that offense. They have 2 RB's good enough to start for most teams in Walker and Charbonnet. They have Chenault and Bobo as their 4 and 5 WR, both guys might be better than our 3rd WR and clearly better than anybody we have beyond Dortch(until Zay is playing hopefully). About the only thing Seattle doesn't have is a TE close to Trey. I know their OL isn't great, and beat up, but they have so much talent at the skill positions it almost doesn't matter.

Sacks don’t impact your passer rating bruh
You know we are in the top 10 in sacks allowed, right? It's not like anytime there is pressure he just goes down. Your hatred is awesome, I love watching the hoops you continue to try to jump through because you so desperately want to look like you are the smartest guy in the room. I've got news for you...

I just had stickied an entire thread for 2 weeks about making things personal and attacking the poster. Please adhere to that rule moving forward.

Ummm...per StatMuse the Cardinals have allowed 11 sacks in 5 games which is 11th fewest in the NFL. Also, Kyler is 13th in time to throw per ESPN next gen stats.

I hear, you, it was an objective observation, not an attack though. I'll figure out a different way to respond to the constant Kyler hate and snarkiness in the Kyler APPRECIATION thread, going forward.

Thanks for the update, what does that have to do with him being one of the best QBs in the NFL this season under pressure?

Nothing to do with his QB rating while under pressure. That is why I didn't quote TheCardFan's post

It has to do with your statement "You know we are in the top 10 in sacks allowed, right?".

What hate and snarkiness has been in this thread since the mods posted to keep it positive?

You are looking at total sacks, which have 2 teams ahead of the Cards that have only played 4 games

Yeah I think he has a not so great sack to pressure ratio.

Time to throw is a bit misleading though. If you have a play making QB who scrambles behind the line, evades some pressure, then throws, it makes that number pretty high, versus a pocket QB who would be more apt to throw it away.

Time to pressure is the one I like looking at more. Not sure where the Cards rank in that category.

Sure. Kyler's great at running.

What I want him to be is great at passing too. When he can pass like he can run we will have a top 3 QB.

We had one pass over 20 yards yesterday and 4 over 10 yards, and MHJ was up against some dude called Yiadom. Last week against one of the worst CB groups in the league he had 142 yards and 3 completions over 10 yards in a game we were behind the whole game. That's a stat padder if there ever was one. It has to be better.
Agree. He needs to pass for 400 yds a game and 85% completions. It's a passing league for God's sake so why are we wasting our time with an undersized game manager? We obviously can't win with this guy...he's never even passed for 50 TDs in a season.

Even if I look at sacks per game, the Cardinals are tied for 11th best at 2.2 per game.

Agree that time to throw is not perfect, but it also helps highlight how quickly the ball is thrown. Coupling this with sacks allowed just shows the Cardinals are currently protecting Kyler at a little above league average rate.

Cards are 19th in the NFL in sack percentage (sacks allowed per attempt).

OK. That is actually a better indicator than sacks per game, especially since we are not a pass heavy offense.

So, the Cardinals are protecting Kyler at a little below league average rate. (maybe this is what you were referencing @urs)

Thank you for the info.

My point was the opposite, K9 tried to make it sound like Kyler just goes down for a sack when pressured so it doesn't hurt his rating as one of the best under pressure. I was showing he doesn't take many sacks. I think the line has been decent overall in pass protection this season

I think I wasn't clear with my initial post and was wondering this whole time why you were such a stickler about 10th or 11th hahaha!

That makes more sense. I appreciate the clarification.

How do I reply to this and stay "positive"? How about I just use stats? Are stats neutral enough?

You do realise there's a middle ground between ever passing over 4000 yards, and 26 touchdowns and your scenario right?

Is it really too much to ask to have a QB that can win games with his arm as well as his legs?

Kyler has 13 career games passing over 300 yards in a career where he is 30-39, he has 19 games with less than 200 yards. His career YPA is 7. He's just shy of 2 to 1 for TD to INTs. He averages 237 yards per game with a 92 passer rating.

Tua, who even his own fans aren't sold on. Has a better 96.4 passer rating, 7.7 YPA, a better TD %, slightly better YPG and a slightly better comp %. He also have 13 career games over 300 yards in 15 less games.

If y'all are happy with Kyler as a passer then great for you. Personally I'd prefer someone that can win games with their arm, because when Kyler can't run and we can't get JC going this team is historically bad.

If you stop this team running you're going to win 9 out of 10, and that's no way to compete for anything. Kyler is 0-13-1 when rushing less than 5 times. His average in every win over his career is 8 rushes for 42 yards. When he can start winning games with his arm, as QB's are supposed to do, then we will be ready to challenge for something.
