Daniels is better than Kyler. He was better all season.

Remember when he was a sure fire bust because he wasn't good with mediocre talent under Herm Edwards?

But K1 does control the play calls. He can audible. He makes the decision to keep it or hand it off on a RPO.

The weird thing is pre bye IMO he was doing the best job of his career on RPO's, when to hand it off, when to keep it, when to throw. Post bye he seemed to not want to run and teams schemed for it.

Kyler is a very talented young man. He is not tall but has shown a monster arm at times, especially for his size. I have always wished him well because, well, he is our franchise QB. But after 6 seasons, it has not worked out for him here. Different coaches, doesn't matter. He needs a change of scenery to become successful. There have to be teams that would take his contract (or most of it). The NFL is desperate for good QB's. I get the cap hit means he is here for at least another year, but some team may be able to take the hit and give him a new environment. I can't hate the player. I can't. He is what he is. I'm getting too old for this $hit.

And as much as I don't want age (mine and many of this fan base) to be a factor, it is.

Kyler will be 28.

I feel both sides are right. He is a top 5 all time franchise QB. Also, that is very low bar

A rookie on a rookie contract is seems like an easy path except the owner is a cheap ass

Apparently unlike yourself, I have a Life ! ! And no one is crawling back out considering it's not like this franchise has some long playoff history ! !... I believe the over/under was 7.5 wins for the Cardinals this year. Complaining about Murray over and over and over is pretty bizarre !
The complaining about Kyler for the season was pretty much over. Most in this thread are just responding to idiotic Kyler hype whenever it rears its ugly head. Like pretending he's better than multiple playoff QBs because they lose in a tourney he cannot sniff.

You guys come off so angry about absolutely nothing.

It’s the weirdest thing to see on this message board.
Uh, you're describing yourself. The thread would see far less traffic if you didn't pop up with your "Kyler's awesome" takes all the time.

I think I voted no based on salary and who could replace him and I feel thats still my opinion.

Now 2026 draft with the QB depth if Kyler isn't winning a playoff game then see ya!
See, I'm not ready to give up on another season and then begin anew with a likely several year learning curve after that. The future is now. No more write-off seasons.

Even he gets that “Kyler’s great” isn’t a sustainable take. Now he’s asserting that Kyler is at least as good as playoff QBs, even though he hasn’t played playoff-caliber football in three and a half years.

OOF.

I’ll even add on to my earlier post

Jayden Daniels will pass up one of the top 4 realllll soon.

Kinda hate it for Lamar if Jayden goes to the Super Bowl. Despite the turnovers I thought he played well enough to win :/. I see media heads ready to boot him out of the top 3/4 QBs already.
He has to show it in year 2 when the league adjusts but I don’t see why he won’t.

I've been a Jayden Daniels fan and he's shown far more over the middle stuff than even I thought he did in college.

It might be a me thing, but the only real concern I have about his potential is that he's already 24. Which should be ridiculous considering the season he's had. The age might just be a predraft thing I have to get over.

Careful...

You may be talking yourself into the Cleveland pits of Hell solution: 40 starting QBs in 25 years.

For me that’s more about development time than anything else. Daniels and Nix are both old but real polished.

Clayton Tune will be 26 by the draft; @Harry says he’s still raw—what exactly is the point there?

So who is the replacement?
No bloody idea. Glad I'm not paid to make those decisions :)

Seriously though, a good GM would realize the situation and recognize the need for change. He would then analyze every possible option, identify his best solution, and make that happen, whatever the QB target happens to be. I don't have faith Monti can or will do that. Do you?
