Not ready to give up on Banks just yet...

Banks looked reluctant last season. If he's on the floor with Barbosa, Diaw and Hill, he can just be in there to defend the hell out of the ball and attack the basket. If he's aggressive and pushes the tempo, he could find a place on this team yet.

    Suns Summer League Games

Here's one big thing that stuck out for Alando Tucker: he only had 3 fouls. It seems like everybody picks up fouls like crazy in the summer league. If he can shoot close to fifty percent this season, play defense and not get into foul trouble, this was a tremendous draft pick.

    The 5th Starter

It did a few years ago. Back when there was a Voskuhl/Outlaw starting player rotation pre Nash. Honestly, to me, the most important thing in terms of who starts is getting playmakers on the floor when Nash is out. I also don't want our only three guards starting because foul trouble to any...

    Great story on Tucker

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/0708suns0709.html I love the character of the guys on this team.

Is the James Jones trade official yet?

I think it was a typo. Portland needs a small forward, not a shooting guard and Marion is a small forward. If the Blazers could somehow wind up with Roy/Marion/Aldridge/Oden, they'd be pretty well set.

    Kerr's Next Tasks

I think that if D'Antoni gives Tucker 20 minutes a game for the entire season, then by the time we get into the playoffs, he'll be ready to contribute as a playoff rotation player. I'm afraid that when he's not ready at the very beginning, D'Antoni will just shelve him until next season.

He must be better than Oden and Durant, then, huh?

    Elton Brand: Movie Producer

He had to have put money into it. I see no other way he could have gotten involved. And he obviously wasn't on set or anything. I think he just wanted to get into the movie business and saw this as a legitimate way in. Good for him, and I applaud that he went for this kind of a movie as well.

    Elton Brand: Movie Producer

I don't know if anyone has seen "Rescue Dawn" (it's a pretty interesting and impressive movie, though not without its flaws), but I recently found out that Elton Brand is a producer on it. I'm not even sure what to think of this. Is there a less likely person to produce a Werner Herzog movie...

The Overlooked Benefit of Grant Hill

Of course, all that means is that he averages, what, 3 a game?

The Overlooked Benefit of Grant Hill

So the Pistons were just fouling him to help out the Magic offense? That seems likely. Look. Grant Hill is a veteran player who knows how to draw fouls, and more importantly, tends to get them called in his favor. Go back and watch the Suns in the playoffs again and tell me that wouldn't...

The Overlooked Benefit of Grant Hill

Free throws. Against the Pistons in the first round of the playoffs last year, Hill went to the line at least 6 times in every game, and went 13 times in game 2. Granted, shooting 6 free throws doesn't mean he can get to the basket whenever he wants, but adding a few free throws to this free...

    Sean Marks

I've said this before. I think Steve Kerr really likes Sean Marks, both as a player and a person. When the Suns signed him, Kerr wrote an article for Yahoo that said he thought the Suns got a great bargain and that Marks would probably be a contributor in the rotation.

    Hill picks Phoenix

There was a lot of poor execution on offense in the San Antonio series. That, to me, is where Grant Hill helps. My hope is that Tucker is as good on defense as the team seems to think and that he brings a lot of energy and toughness to the lineup. Hill gives us versatiliy, but if we need to...

    Hill picks Phoenix

Part of me would really like to see Tucker start and play most of his minutes at the beginning of the first and third quarters. Then Hill/Diaw/Barbosa come in off the bench and can be assured to all play together while Nash is out.

    Hill picks Phoenix

My two concerns with Hill are his defense and his three point shooting. If he can get his accuracy up from three I'll be ecstatic.
