Tales From The Darkside: To my followers, Kool-aiders and everyone else

...that is some good sh^t cheesebeef. I know that there will be tons of Steelers Fans at the game, but you watch and see how much Red shows up all over the joint. Shock The World!!!

Mike Tomlin is BY FAR the most overrated coach in the league

Double Ditto on all that....Steelers are a model franchise, we've been called a lot worse than "Steelers West"! There is really nothing to dislike about Mike Tomlin. Never makes an excuse, great leader, Rooney family made a great hire. Worked out even better for us, Go Cards!

    Who is travelling to Tampa?

Rarely do i have a chance to post anything, but this is a great board for cards insight. Driving down from NJ late Friday night (with a my buddy a dreaded Steelers fan no less). Sitting in 111 and would love to catch up fellow Cards Fans for Saturday Night hangout and Sunday tailgate. Been...

Roll Call for all Cards fans going to the Super Bowl (spreadsheet included)

I don't post much around here but been lurking for a long, long time. Driving down from NJ late Friday night (with my friend Danny the Steelers fan, sadly). Not sure where we are staying just yet, but we certainly plan on hitting Wings Gone Wild dead on for Saturday night's UFC 94. Sitting in...

How well do you know the Cardinals - USA Today Quiz

13/14 - forgot about Sean Morey making the pro bowl (my apologies). That is such typical anti-Cards BS by USA Today showing Neil Lomax getting sacked when referencing his 4,614 yard 1984 team passing record (which was like 6th in NFL History at the time)....fume.... No worries, the World...

How Long have you been a Fan of the Cardinals?

..."damn I love them", that is exactly how I feel..... As a lifelong NJ resident, I became a Cards fan in about 1979 at the age of 8. I was already a STL Cards baseball fan through my Dad's love of that team since the Stan the Man days. Although he was an Eagles fan (oh, the irony), I wanted...

    Ralph Brown

Great in coverage, and nice ball skills... ...and the missed tackle in the flat on Brad Hoover on the first drive was much more upsetting than the Steve Smith play at the end. Steve Smith is a bad man in the open field, tackling Brad Hoover in the flat was not nearly as difficult....

About the Wilson penalty from AP story

I know this will never happen, but.. ...if you can use replay to see if see if a receiver's toes hit the field or sideline, then why can't you look to see if AW hit Heap in the head or below the head??? If the 15 yard penatly is for a "blow to the head", and the replay shows that the clean hit...

    1st & One??

Thanks, but I guess I still don't understand. If the 5-yard version of the facemask penalty does NOT bring an automatic "1st % 10", and simply adds another 5 yards to the play that was just run, why is it not 2nd and 1?? So they get the benefit of the yards of the play, the yards of the penatky...

    1st & One??

Sorry if this has been covered already, but could someone please clarify the 1st & One status? On first and ten, they complete a 4 yeard pass, plus a five yard facemask penalty (which I thought had been changed to NOT an automatic first down, but I guess I am mistaken). So if it is an Automatic...

Hey Eric Green: Just fall on the ball!!!!!!!!!

Eric Green The fact of the matter is that Holt DID knock it out; therefore how does Green not KNOW that all he has to do is swat that sh^t out the back of the end zone for a touchback (which of course none of Mike x 3 even mentioned last night)! He usually has very good game insticts; trying...

Players of possible interest to the Cards thread

If Whis does go after Pitt guys that he knows well, they just cut C Chukky Okobi (entered camp as their starter), or FBs Verron Haynes or John Kuhn (both underrated). It would appear that Jerame Tuman made the squad, unless I am missing something.

Not trying to bash but an honest question about Rod Graves.

It's called the "phone" ...when Green decided Pete Kendall simply had to go, Graves' job was to pick up the phone and get SOMETHING of value for him, just like the Jets just did....pathetic lack of both effort and creativity....

    Practice squad question?

Nice Try Jeff >>>that's a good thought Jeff, but the only way we see Matt Trannon again is if he clears all 32 teams, which is simply NOT happening.. ....keeping Morey and Euhus is embarrassing...Whiz is the man, but he has a lot to learn about the concept of "upside"....maybe SM can...

Anyone Notice that by cutting players we always seem to do them a favor?

Aeneas Williams played in 6 playoff games for the Rams (including one Super Bowl), but hey at least we netted Michael Stone from that trade:bang: . Jamir Miller had a great first year in Cleveland after he left and was a huge loss.

Ditka, DeLamielleure introduce DeMarco in fight to take care of ex-players

So Upshaw is looking for a big pat on the back for the "system" he has in place which doled out under $10K to a family bordering on homelessness??? In the words of Derrick Coleman, "Whoop De Damn Do"....

Ditka, DeLamielleure introduce DeMarco in fight to take care of ex-players

HBO's Real Sports did a story on this issue as well not long ago....the NFL simply prints money at will, yet continues to largely turn a blind eye to retired players....hopefully this changes for the better sometime soon.... Ditka, DeLamielleure introduce DeMarco in fight to take care of...

With the 5th pick in the 1986 NFL draft the St. Louis Cardinals select Anthony Bell

my bad.. ...good call on Joe Wolf; should have recalled that....still, #1 pick (#17 overall) 2 years after blowing the #6 pick in the draft did very little to ease the sting of the Stouffer debacle....

With the 5th pick in the 1986 NFL draft the St. Louis Cardinals select Anthony Bell

Things actually got worse.. ...the very next year, 1987. On my death bed, I will still be recounting the horror story of the 1987 draft. Since the draft was on a Tuesday back then, I had to (cough-cough) be "sick" and miss a day of sophomore year high school to watch and chart the Draft...

    USA Today Sports Weekly

..the only logical assumption.... ....is that whomever wrote that piece is an OSU alum.....Watson was a "bust"? Really?? Way too many quality snaps out of a 4th round pick to be termed a "bust". Perhaps USA Today was over-budget and accepted a volunteer submission for that sophmoric review...

Bill Simmons on former Cards K Neil O'Donahue..

....I remember that 1983 Monday nighter and the Washington kick (albeit 50+ I think) to end the 1984 season like they were yesterday....boy did he suck..... Q: Do you realize the 2005 Giants have become Video Madden in real life? They had the equivalent of your "No Freaking Way" game against...

Osi Umenyiora Russ, For what it is worth, Osi Umenyiora was a definite force for the Giants the past two seasons. So much so, in fact, that Ernie Accorsi refused to include him in the Eli Manning deal with San Diego (which could have broken down negotiations all together). Osi would have...

Darren Urban on AM 1060 - Aug 11

Kerouc9 Just FYI, in case no one picked up on this yet, but Mike Vick was the 1st QB to win at Lambeau in the playoffs, not only. Daunte Culpepper and the Vikings won there in the WC round just last season. Nothing but good things to say about Warner here, so I'll just stay out of the...
