Western Conference First Round Game 1- Grizzles @ Suns Game Thread

Wow just read their 17 page long game thread - what whiny bitches! About 20 negative posts and bitches to every 1 intelligent or positive comment. I hope we're not that bad... Nice game though by the Suns - a couple of ugly stretches as usual, but their hot streaks made up for it. Why...

    Jefferson Practices

As much as I wanted to see Bron in the playoffs, I think the Nets will actually be more interesting. With Jefferson back, along with red-hot Carter and Kidd the Nets could be a nice challenge to the Heat. Shaq is a bit gimpy still and the Heat ended the season with questionable chemistry. I...

More from Suns Correspondant to the Every Man...Paul Shirley!

I totally agree about the blaring music, gimmicks, and nutty hijinks during timeouts. LAME. I prefer to just watch basketball and enjoy the game without having constant hubbub. Without the music and crap, people might actually talk about the game more during timeouts instead of banging their...

NBA Baller of the week/Is Gasol much better than Amare?

That's bizarre - all of Amare's numbers are better, and Gasol has been struggling to fit in since his return from injury.

    NBA Playoffs...Survival Style

It's scary that New York is even higher on this list and can't sniff the playoffs in the East.

    Did we know this?

Tom Tolbert rules - my favorite announcer. And he loves high scoring - no defense teams. I miss when he and Walton were doing playoff games together, I hope they do that again this year. Tolbert and Tirico are funny as hell sometimes too though.

    Who Wins The East?

I pick the Heat to come out of the East. Wade is spectacular, and Shaq has just been cruising all year, saving up energy for NOW - the playoffs. Miami is confident, well coached, and have two superstars. I could also see Detroit winning the East, but it's definitely a Heat - Pistons ECF. I...

Q Rich or Joe Johnson - If you had to pick one?

It seems like it is a unanimous vote in favor of JJ. I bring up this question because we paid Q 6 years at $43.5 million. If Q is making 7.25mm a year, shouldn't JJ deserve at least 9, as he is clearly the more valuable piece? Also we are maxing out Amare after the season. That will give our...

    Start Paul Shirley

Darko started tonight and put up nice numbers... I'd like to see a Bo, Shirley, and Voskuhl front line at some point.

Is it me or does Greg Anthony hate Nash and the Suns

I don't think he has anything against the Suns. I agree with most of his points about Shaq being the MVP, but even Anthony (as I) stated they would have Nash 2nd in the voting. Memphis has given us trouble this year, and they are healthy now (although not playing that great). I don't think...

Who Has An Easier Road To The Western Conference Finals

I think the Spurs have an easier road, slightly. Denver is a tough 1st rounder for them, but Memphis has played us tough this year. Also, we will likely face Dallas in Round 2, and they are playing excellent ball lately. I actually fear Dallas slightly more than the Spurs at this point.

Q Rich or Joe Johnson - If you had to pick one?

If the Suns, for money reasons, could only keep one of either Q or Joe, and assuming they would make similar salaries.. who do you think is more valuable to the Suns?

    Minnesota OUT, Memphis IN

This is a relief, Memphis is exactly the team I wanted the Suns to face. They have depth, but are not playing well since Gasol came back, and I think we have too much firepower for them. I was a bit worried about Minny at #8 - that they would magically get their chemistry back and really...

    Stein Line picks NBA Awards

Ok guys, well I think that even irregardless of the past Shaq deserves the nod. Nash would be my #2 choice - he HAS had a great impact. I don't think Shaq is an offensive liability at the end of games. People have tried hack-a-shaq and it doesn't work. Even if he makes 50% you're giving them...

    Stein Line picks NBA Awards

Ash - how does not bringing up Shaq's past faults diminish my argument? Shaq has been to 5 NBA Finals and won 3. He was the Finals MVP every time they won. Nash has gotten to the playoffs, but only once to the Western Conference finals. His playoff performances have been sporadic. This...

    Stein Line picks NBA Awards

It's the same old argument because there is truth to it. I think even most of the Suns fans here would admit as much. If you watched the Mavs last few playoff runs, you'd see Steve getting burned by all the of the top PG's in the west. I'm not saying he doesn't try hard on defense, he just...

    Kings at Suns 4/16

Suns ran away with this one. Nash only played 26 minutes and took 3 shots. Barbosa had 17 PTS, 6 REB, 3 AST off the bench with 5-5 shooting and 7-8 FT. Amare was too much for the Kings, compiling 38 PTS, 9 REB, and 3 BLK. Has anyone else noticed Amare upping his defensive intensity...

    Stein Line picks NBA Awards

    - Chaplin It doesn't apply to Nash because - Phoenix is not one other good player and a bunch of scrubs. All 5 Phoenix starters could be 20 ppg scorers. - Nash doesn't dominate both ends of the floor. In fact, he is a defensive liability. For the criticisms of McGrady not...

    Stein Line picks NBA Awards

I watched T-Mac for years as an Orlando resisdent, and I've seen plenty of Suns games as well. I'm going to have to side with taking T-Mac over Marion. Marion is a great piece to the puzzle and fits perfectly in the Suns system, but I think T-Mac could score 27 a game on almost any team...

    Greg Anthony makes me sick...........

I find Greg to be an excellent analyst. He is knowledgable, eloquent, and can make his points. In his debates on NBA 2 Night and NBA Fastbreak, I find him to be the strongest of the group.
