Could Nash win another MVP this season?

If last season is any indication, Steve Nash's body holds at most for 20 games if he has to deliver MVP worthy performance consistently (36min, 18pt, 10ast). His breakdown after the first 20 games last season turned out to be blessing in disguise, which forced Gentry to limit his min and ball...

    Simmons on the Suns

Exactly. Dirk and JJ proved they could be more than what they were under Nash. We are yet to say whether the same happens with Amare. People on here hate Amare for the game 6 loss last year. But has he ever had another game with similar burden/responsibility for our offense like that ever? In...

    Simmons on the Suns

Simmons is spot on. First, Hedo is not of much use, as well as the signing of Frye, Warrick, without Amare. While Nash always provides the foundation of a good team, the last year's team's pivotal player was Amare. Gentry held Nash back and gave Amare more roles on offense, after the ASB...

    Plan to panic

I watched parts of NYK's game in Milan. Amare is rotating far out on defense, as he used to under DA. Bad luck he ended up with DA again, I guess.

    Not OT - The Knicks

Don't think Knicks have it with DA there. Judging from their first pre-season game, Amare's defense deteriorated from last season, right back at DA's Suns level. And their PG is really bad. With Gentry replacing DA, and somehow getting Parker or Paul, would make them contenders though. ;)

Anyone wish Amare well in NY?

I believe Amare will prove his haters wrong, despite playing for DA.

    4-team Trade

I believe Collison would get them Anthony Randolph, Blatche, or some other top talent, while Posey + 2nd rounder would get them Ariza. Collison is that valuable and Ariza is that bad a contract. How is that not totally apparent? I can't believe that you cannot see that. Again, the critique...

    4-team Trade

By getting the short end of a deal involving of the best PG prospect in Collison? Why would Paul be impressed by that kind of lack of management skill to stay, and believe it would build a contender this way?:bang:

    4-team Trade

Given Collison's performance, NO got robbed in this deal. Pacers are the big winner to turn Murphy into their future starting PG.

Biedrins hoped to play with Nash

Well, if it revealed your preference even latently in favor having Biedrins on the team, I'd say it'd be very relevant. Many followup posts assumed such, if I'm not mistaken. :bang:

Biedrins hoped to play with Nash

I just don't understand why this 'news' should be relevant. Eddy "Fat" Curry from NYK would have said the same thing as Biedrins. Everybody would like to play with Nash. But Suns don't need them at their salaries.

How Did Lawal Slip to #46?

anywhere near Milsap or Maxiell or Blair's game would make Lawal a great pick for the Suns.

ESPN Insider Article - Suns 3rd Worst Franchise for the Future?

Technically, we did not offer Amare a max. Nobody woud expect to die on the ensuing trip just because he purchase an insurance for the trip. Max is called max because it has the insurance feature to it. Dudley is supposedly a great friend to Amare. He might be really sour on Amare leaving...

    Taylor Griffin waived.

I thought we wanted to trade him to Clips for Thornton or what. In the end, Thornton was traded for garbage but we didn't get any use for Taylor. :(

It sounds like Amundson is on his way out

The problem with Lou is that he is exclusively an energy guy, worth having on a contending team like Blazers or Lakers as a luxury. But for 4 mil a year, it's overpaying for a team like the Suns with no intention other than just entertaining and making money for the owner.

Who do you want to acquire at PF

Nash is getting old. He broke down last year already, less than 8 weeks into the season. Dragic by all standards is still not a starter quality yet. We are now a boundary playoff team without any potential for more. 44-48 wins and hope that's good enough for a playoff berth.

    The revolving roster

Blessing or Curse in disguise? SSOL brings its own downfall, just as relying too much on Nash. Gentry proved that the team could win with much reduced Nash dribbling in the 2nd part of last season. It might be just too late though for a revelation.

Amare says thanks in newspaper ad

What's that for logic? Does it apply to when you buy any kind of insurance? Also, NY had other earning potentials Phoenix probably wouldn't be able to provide, just by NY being NY. So, the monetary opportunity costs are way more than it appears.

Amare says thanks in newspaper ad

Standard business practice? I thought LBJ set that standard in the NBA, not? After all, he is considered one of the only two who deserve a max contract.

    How Will Turkoglu Be Used?

Shooting skill rarely fades with age, but in-game fatigue or injeries do affect it. Most likely cause for Amare's was adjustment to vision problem. It takes time but there is no reason he wouldn't get used to it. I know. It's cool. As to stripping the ball, it's definitely result of strength...

    How Will Turkoglu Be Used?

Steve, should I take your bait on mentioning certain player about which ever edition of his?;) Well, I'll bite. Amare was better than Dwight Howard and Al Jefferson after being given the same Career number of attempts to create. Fair? As DCR mentioned in this thread, he could get off...

    How Will Turkoglu Be Used?

Listen to Gentry. He said already how to use Hedo.

    Hedo Turkoglu officially a Sun

In that case, Hedo would replace Frye as the 3pt shooting 6'10 guy. Either we sign Childress with the MLE and trade JRich for defensive center help. Or we just use MLE for a C like JOneal and get back Lou for the market price. As Gentry said in his interview, Hedo would be the perfect fit next...
