The Way We Hear It (PFW)

The smith comments are like the ones we as Arizona fans hang our hats on every offseason. Until Smith can make better decisions and make them much faster, he will be average at best. Hindering that is the fact that you can't make a decision on your back!!!! Martz is notorious for leaving only 5...

So, what's our insurance at CB?

Brown and you roll a safety over the top. If we are down to our 4th CB (because Green is a solid #3), we are in trouble, as would be any team in the league. That is like saying What happens if Warner and Leinart get hurt.... we lose a lot of games!!

    The 2005 Draft

Anybody miss McCoy? I always thought he would turn out to be Johnson's successor. He always seemed to make big plays at big moments and had the speed we all seem to want in our receivers.

Interesting comment in Calais Campbell article

Runningbacks had basically dried up at that point. For that matter, so had corners. Interesting that the plan to get a RB and CB in the first two rounds would have been tough considering the run on both positions.

    How "Flexible" is Whiz?

I think the moral of the thread is that Whiz adjusted his tendencies based on his team's talent and abilities. That is what good coaches do. Denny Green's tend to keep trying the same thing and expect a different result.

    Highlights of Hightower

He is a good one-cut type RB. He could surprise. I wonder who that leaves our Shipp or Arrington?

    RB Tim Hightower?

I think about my earlier comment about him being Shipp.... and I forget 1)how old Shipp is and 2) how much he makes. Replacing him may not be a bad idea at all.

    Ken Iwebema

Sounds like Smith coming out of Oklahoma state, and I have no doubt he was drafted because we will let Antonio walk next year unless he improves on his play to match the flashes we see from him.

    The Implication of Taking Doucet

We are adding depth. Anybody who thinks Urban or Morey should be catching passes in this offense consistently are selling the team short. It adds talent, to a depth position of need at a great value and prepares if the Boldin issue gets bigger. We run a lot of 3 WR stuff, so I see this as...

    RB Tim Hightower?

Great.... We drafted a cheaper version of Marcell Shipp.

    Summing Up Day One

I bet Kevin Smith in round three and I would love to hear Harry's comments!!!

    Summing Up Day One

But the important thing is these picks seem to be made for NEXT year. DRC to replace Green if he leaves and Campbell for Antonio Smith. Good teams draft for what they need next year, not this year. I love the picks.

You May Witness a Draft First...I Kid You Not!

This is the biggest thing lacking in the last 2 CBAs. I think when the owners negate the CBA in November because of the high amount of revenue sharing, they will make this money back by convincing the union to slate rookies to make it more equitable.

You May Witness a Draft First...I Kid You Not!

I have no doubt that DRc and Jenkins are first round talents, and I think every scout out there would agree. Talib and Cason would cause some debate, but make no mistake there are 3 guys with the potential to be "Lock down" corners. Those guys make up 2/3 of that group. The reason teams...

On upcoming Penn State draftees Connor and King

King, Lee and Porter are guys we can scoop up in the second to add depth behind Green.

Pro Football Weekly Draft Guide 97 (Tom Knight) vs. 08 (Leodis McKelvin)

Just like route running in WRs, blocking in RBs, pocket awareness in QBs..... It isn't sexy, it is hard to make tangible, but it can be the difference between Rob Johnson and Tom Brady (just an example, no need to start debating the two players I chose to illustrate this trait!!!)

Buster Davis Has Something To Prove

I think the bigger problem is that Mac ran a 2-gap scheme, but drafted Walker who is a 1-gap penetrator. He was drafted despite not being a player who "fit" the current scheme of the team. That is an insane way to operate.

The problem with Edge as the primary runner (even at Indianapolis)

Fast Willie was hurt for the last 2 games. During that time Davenport got 36 carries (which is a third of his carries last year). Taylor and Drew are a 2 headed beast..... Not sure it is fair to lump them into that group.

    Cardinals weakest position

3.6 YPc for Edge and 74.4 yards per game. I love the guy, but he needs help and the team needs a RB to prepare for the eventuality that is bearing down on us.

Just a feeling: Jonathon Stewart will go much higher than expected.

He is a young Edge, and comes ready to block. He would be PERFECT for this team and an infusion of similar talent to replace aging talent. Plus we have the luxury of being patient with his injury.

Shmo's board at work locked in a training class Mock Draft.

Didn'r King also have an off-the-field incident last year? I am hearing good things about Lee out of auburn. A lot of college players keep naming him as the best corner they faced in college. He is raw (only started a year), but has the measurables and upside if we pass on CB in the first...

Rating the offensive line positions based on difficulty

Does that mean Wells is the tougher G position to play because of Matt's blind side?

Why The Cardinals Need To Trade Down If Possible

I just don't like trading out of 16. The draft is deep at corner and RB, so one of the top ones will be there at 16. Why trade down and out of that. Cason will be late first, early second. I doubt he lasts until our pick in the second.

Bengals' shift in philosophy, Rolle's relocation, more

That is hysterical.... That was the product of posting at work in between customers!! I swear, I know Hood plays corner. I swear!! :)

Bengals' shift in philosophy, Rolle's relocation, more

But until they had Hood at safety they couldn't afford to do it. I don't think the previous coaches had much confidance in Macklin.
