    Who's your favorite SUN? Vr12.08

He gave two reasons for choosing LB over Amare and Shaq. :) Can't debate the first reason.

    Bell,Diaw,Singletary out....Jason Richardson,Jared Dudley,'2010 2nd rd pick in

He did kind of forget to mention again how many days off between games he needs to take if we expect him to be "Shaq." He already told us one day isn't enough.

Is This A Reversion to the D'Antoni System?

Most of the "anti-Suns B.S. bring thrown around here" has nothing at all to do with D'Antoni. The true anti-Sun B.S.ers are those who love to zero in on any one player to use as the whipping boy du jour--a target for hate posts, most of them irrational and vicious. This is not presented as any...

Nash: "I feel like I've been traded"

The Republic probably used that title on Coro's article to do exactly what it did, stir up a lot of talk. Apparently not everyone noticed that Nash made the comment "chuckling." Does keep the boards going, though :)

Nash: "I feel like I've been traded"

Seems like he used the best description of his current situation--a traded player's usually surrounded by new teammates.

    Unbelievable. Almost.

He was. Went to the Raptors in February 2006.

    Sarver Responds to D'Antoni article....

You made that same comparison earlier and it does fall right in line with the longstanding fire-the-coach crusade. But Sarver's saying they wanted him to stay. So if you really take Sarver's comments at face value and remember how it all went down, DA was not the jilted one, he was more the...

    Sarver Responds to D'Antoni article....

Now that I've overcome the dizziness from all that spinning, I have to chuckle. Sarver's "kind of hurt"? No problem. Tell him to have that foam finger reconfigured before the Knicks game Monday. Then he can look even more goofy.

2 Interesting Articles: D'Antoni Rips Phx Mgmt and Boris to Knicks?

Well, again--no, not exactly. I think that all the players--including Raja--were ready and willing to really give it a try at the beginning of the season. When it quickly became painfully obvious that the new approach wasn't suited to the players running it, the team was falling apart and...

Can "experts" not belittle a man when they don't know the whole story?

One last post to clarifiy some of my comments and why I even woke up this thread, because as it turns out, the flying misquotes include both Shaq's and mine. I didn't say it was "ONLY his great-grandmother". That would have been minimalizing what was probably a great relationship. I was...

Can "experts" not belittle a man when they don't know the whole story?

They are hardly in the same position. Barbosa lost his mother, someone he reportedly spoke to by phone at least twice a day. Shaq lost his great-grandmother. I doubt there are many of us who ever even met our great-grandmothers.

Can "experts" not belittle a man when they don't know the whole story?

Yup, and although I did read somewhere else "he'd try to be back on Friday night," it's unlikely he'll have to go up against DH either, which could prove quite embarrassing. Sorry, I'm turning into a cynic.

Can "experts" not belittle a man when they don't know the whole story?

Although it wasn't mentioned anywhere before, it is kind of interesting that according to Kerr, the funeral is actually not until Friday: http://www.nba.com/suns/news/newsroom_notes_081209.html

Can "experts" not belittle a man when they don't know the whole story?

Paid bereavement time for death of an immediate family member is quite common in most major corporations, with the amount of time varying. However, "immediate family" is usually clearly defined, and typically considered to be spouse/children/parents/siblings. Not a big deal anyway--Shaq...

    Shaq resting strategy

Someone on another thread did suggest the Suns may be taking the approach on the B2Bs that they need to take at least ONE of the two games. If that is in fact the "strategy," it would explain playing him tonight and letting him sit tomorrow. But it's a pretty sad mindset when you think about it.

    Latest Shaq's Twitter Comments

Months ago when we were still hearing anything--anything at all--about Shaq's restraining order, the situation included an e-mail he allegedly sent his hip-hop girlfriend: According to the paper, the court affidavit quotes an e-mail from O'Neal as saying, "I dnt no who the [expletive] u think u...

Has coach Porter lost this team?

Division standings are one thing--second place sounds a lot more impressive than it is. Conference standings would seem to be a more valid measure.

Kerr, time to bit the bullet

Suns No Match for Kobe, Lakers -- Nov 21, 2008 (AZCentral -- Sports) "Suns center Shaquille O'Neal was his usual spry self after a rest, but the Suns lost for the first time after a two-day rest. After Lakers center Andrew Bynum posted up Amare Stoudemire, Shaquille O'Neal got off the bench...

    Knowing what you know now....

Obviously, and for good reason. Although the topic would suggest blaming or crediting the coaching for what currently appears to be a complete meltdown, recent comments from the team sound more like it's a result of player interaction deteriorating to a whole new level. The coach can promote...

    OT: Rodney Rogers Paralyzed

Me, too. I still have (somewhere) a great poster they gave out at a game several years ago, "The Rogers-Robinson Wrecking Crew." Rodney and Uncle Cliffy--in unis, but all rigged out in work boots and hard hats, looking mean, with a jackhammer and sledge, etc. Back in the day... P.S...

Terry Porter errupts on the team in practice

    Marion's stats actually went up a bit under DA. 1999-2004 17.4 and 9.2 2004-2008 18.6 and 10.7 (2008 prior to trade)

    Suns at Hornets 8ET MY45

Just too, too good to pass up. This is why it's so fun to read these game threads: cly2tw: "Nash out? Then, we have a chance against Paul and co.!" (Well ..... okay.) cly2tw: "Nash led team has two sure things going for them: No chance of winning WCF and no chance of winning against...
