They can feasibly pass both Milwaukee (4 games) and Atlanta (3 games) if they stay hot, but it would mean winning a lot (95 wins?). I wouldn't mind playing a home-advantaged series vs Atlanta...

Didn't realize until today that Milwaukee is 50-17 at home this year so far. Wow!

Also means they are terrible on the road, of course.

Upton has to be so sick of getting hit. I would have charged the mound 8 HBP's ago

He is showing his maturity. He knows if he gets suspended or injured in a fight, it only hurts the team.

It's true, Justin is winning us all over. But one of these days, he is going out to visit the mound.

Diamondbacks win 4-2 and win all six home games. They have now won 12 straight home games. Remain six games ahead of the Giants and gain another game on the Brewers.

Went to the game tonight... First of all this team is awesome. They are so fun to watch, their fielding is great and their enthusiasm is infectious.

The crowd was great, it was a total blast but all the empty seats is still disappointing. What's it gonna take to get people excited about this team? I dont get it... HOWEVER, those who were there were rowdy and into the game. They even got a decent WAVE going which I hadn't seen in a while so props to the folks in the RF bleachers.

I dont know if you could see it on TV or not, but Ryan Roberts is awesome and he makes me laugh. When Parra got into it with the catcher in the 8th, Roberts comes hauling ass out of the dugout and gets right in the middle of it all. It's not that he was going to start a fight necessarily, but if one was going down he was gonna be right in the middle of it. It was hilarous, I saw him and I'm thinking; 'what's Roberts doing out there?'

Just one man's opinion, but the WAVE is the stupidest thing in sports. I get VERY pissed off when I go to a game and some idiots start it up. Pay attention to the friggin' game. It's just bush league to me. Major League players in front of minor league fans.

Sorry. Rant over. I hate the "WAVE".

FWIW- Parra was arguing with Huston Street, not the catcher. Benefit of watching it on the television I suppose....and yes, Ryan cracked me up. That dude loves his team and his teammates. Ryan was ready to throw down. Love that guy.

I totally agree about the wave, I just hadn't seen it actually executed in a while.

I wasn't participating because it was the 8th inning and Hernandez was pitching trying to preserve the lead, which is what I was thinking the whole time.... 'of all times, why now do you choose to start the wave?' lol they did get it all the way around the stadium though, which I guess kinda condemns the level of Dbacks fans understanding/interest of the game and what was going on, but you know, whatever, atleast they showed up. lol :)

I mean if it's a boring game or it's in between pitching changes, go ahead, do your wave, but I dont care about it when it's a critical point in the game.

Thanks for the info, it looked like Parra was jarring with the catcher but my buddy said the same thing when I called him on the way home. So it was the pitcher who was starting stuff?

The wave is OK when your team sucks and you arent in the playoff hunt or if it is a looooong boring game. Not a 2 run game at the end of the season tho, it pisses me off to see it.

EXACTLY!! That's when it started Saturday when I went. I'm thinking "WTF people?? It's the 8th, SF and Houston are knotted at 1, we're up 3-1 and NOW you want to start doing the wave???" Ridiculous. The players must think we are morons. Can you imagine that being attempted at Fenway vs. the Yankees?

Yeah, Street didn't like Parra's feeble attempt at dis-lodging the ball from the catcher. Said something to Parra...Parra barked back. Enter Ryan Roberts. Awesome.

Roberts should change his last name to; "LETS DO THIS!"

He's just one of those guys you want on your team. He wasn't even involved in this play but when, even for a second, Roberts thought that one of his teammates was into it with someone he's right there. Dude just isn't going to let anyone mess with his teammates,,, PERIOD. I really like that about him. Doesn't matter if it's Upton, Kennedy, Parra or Burroughs,,,, Roberts has their back.

We need Fan 101 training as I thought Miggy deserved a curtain call after the 3-run jack in the first. That was a huge moment for this team as he stomped the Rockies after Upton getting beaned again. My daughter and I were briefly enjoying our $5 upper-deck seats before sneaking down below, and tried our best. Disappointing moment, but great game.

My roommates and I were dying watching Ryan Roberts run out in support of Parra, and then looks around to see not only that he is the only one out there, but even Parra had walked away. he had a look on his face as if to say "this isn't where i parked my car....."

Milwaukee lost again today to the Cardinals and now the Diamondbacks are only 2.5 games behind them.

Wow, they really laid an egg tonight, Giving up 6 to the Giants is like giving up 12 to an average team and we're only in the 7th.

Nice work Demel.

No biggie, its just one game. Saunders clearly didn't have it tonight. If he wasn't pitching inside he had 0 location. They said he was fighting the flu as well so given the circumstances, Cain should beat Lincecum (even more so than usual). Cant wait for Kennedy vs. Lincecum tomorrow. Good September baseball, how I missed thee!

Nice win tonight at AT&T Park. Kennedy looked great, I survived it and will back at the Park tomorrow. Hopefully, another DBack's win. PS, they want to know who the Paul G guy is.

Tell them he's what steroid free homeruns look like.
