The defense is terrible. I would not be surprised if Tippet gets fired before the season is done.

Yotes finally get a win (in overtime, 2-1) at home against the even-more-hapless-but-much-more-talented Oilers. Dubnyk was a little weak on the allowed goal, but he was screened on that one and played pretty well the rest of the game, including an outstanding save in overtime.

I'm going to start watching Hockey again. I haven't watched since Raymond Bourque hoisted the Stanley Cup. I'm now going to start rooting for the Phoenix Coyotes (since my cable says I'm in the Arizona market/district/zone/ whatever you want to call it). I still like the Avs as my team but the Phoenix Coyotes will be my 1b team.:)

Good win at home by the Yotes last night over a hot team (Columbus), 6-3. 3 PP goals. Great games by Reider, Hanzal, and Ganger, but in general most everyone gave good consistent effort. Smith was in goal and is still having pucks go right through him. Not sure what his deal is this year...

St. Louis with the beat down. Backes with a 4-goal natural.

Yeeesh, I hope Smith finds his groove again. That's a heavy contract to carry for a floundering Goalie.

You are right, but even if he stands on his head, you can't win if you don't score.

We have so many glaring issues right now, I just don't see how we can address them all anytime soon even if we could spend to the cap. (which ain't happening)

Smitty actually looked pretty good, too. Boedker's second goal was sick and I pray he does that more often.

Crap-yotes showed up Saturday against Ottawa.

Hopefully the good team shows up tonight against SJ at The River.

Unfortunately, the mediocre team showed up and it wasn't enough, losing 3-2 after leading 1-0 and tying at 2...

Devan Dubnyk is headed to the Wild for a 2015 3rd round pick.

Smith or bust at this point. Rumors swirling of full rebuild. Hold on tight and keep your hands and arms inside the mixer at all times.

Dubnyk was gone after this year anyway. Might as well get something for him if we really think Smith can get back to form, which is not looking great.

Full rebuild is on! I still long for the 2012 season of overachieving.

Quite right, and I am frankly amazed we got a 3rd out of it.

As much as I love Vermette, I don't think we can afford what someone's going to offer him unless he really likes us and offers a hometown discount.

Z is probably on the way out too.

When you watch a game like Coyotes vs Blackhawks, the talent disparity is quite laughable, and yet sad...

Why this year?

This is what happens when all of a teams recognizable stars are traded or let go. What do you suppose is the plan?

The draft this year has some huge talents. Check out some of the highlights on Youtube of Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel, the most likely 1 and 2 picks. I don't think there's a bad pick in the top five and it doesn't look like we'll have any problem getting into a real high pick.

I don't think there is anything to do this year to be honest. We need to get something out of our UFA's by the deadline and then go to work for real this summer. McDavid is poised to become a franchise player. If we could land him and Maloney can work some magic, this funk may be a one season blip on the radar by next season.
