I guess I should just treat it as an insult. Why, there are several Super Bowl winning QB's who were just that. Trent Dilfer anyone?

Peyton and Eli have had some seriously good talent around them.
Lots of high draft picks in the list. Vinatieri came somewhat later, but good point nonetheless. No kidding. Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Edgerrin James,Jeff Saturday, Tarik Glenn and Adam Vinatieri.
Brett Farve was historically great with pretty awful talent around him. So was Dan Marino. Tom Brady makes the people around him better. Phil Rivers was so good for a while that his front office decided to play Jenga with their offensive personnel and see how long it took for the whole thing to come crashing down (answer: 2 years).
Chad Pennington (of all people) took two offensively-challenged teams to the playoffs.
Take a look at Green Bays defensive rankings the years Farve was taking them to the playoffs.
Chad Pennington's defenses were #9 and #6.
Marino had Mark Duper and Mark Clayton and they never ran the ball so he didn't need any Running Backs.
Kurt Warner and Joe Montana, successful when surrounded by talent.

Okay, let's look:
2007 (13-3): Offense 4th in points, 2nd in yards; defense 6th in points, 11th in yards.
2004 (10-6): Offense 5th in points, 3rd in yards; defense 23rd in points, 25th in yards.
2003 (10-6): Offense 4th in points, 4th in yards; defense 11th in points, 17th in yards.
2002 (12-4): Offense 6th in points, 12th in yards; defense 12th in points, 12th in yards.
2001 (12-4): Offense 5th in points, 6th in yards; defense 5th in points, 12th in yards.
I'm not sure what having a good defense has to do with "surrounding with talent." For me that phrase means that if you have a top RB and a group of quality WR, you can have a playoff-caliber offense. That's the Alex Smith theory of success (I'd say that Troy Aikman was the least talented of the Dallas "Triplets", but I imagine that I'd get some argument on that.
Kouandjio, for the first time since I've been watching, struggled yesterday. The freshman DE from Ole Miss gave him all he wanted. Of course that frosh will also likely be a top 5 pick when he's eligible. His name is Robert Ndekcwichi or something like that and he jumped on the Ole Miss payroll, along with a bunch of other talented freshmen this past recruiting season.
Jameis Winston is a RS freshman. He also plays baseball ( conflict).QB from Florida St looked good.
I liked what I saw of Morris the QB from Miami-Fl today.
Also Anthony Barr is a complete monster.
No RB's early but Seastrunk is awfully good.
Another player at another position not needed but I would love to see on the Cards is Sammie Watkins, the WR from Clemson. That guy is the best WR I've seen as a pro prospect since Calvin Johnson.

Be careful on Morris. Great arm. Can throw 60 yds through a brick wall, but often lacks touch. Very good athlete. Not as big as advertised and brain farts too often. Locks onto 1st receiver too often. Lacks mental maturity.
