I wonder if the Nuggets will be able to keep Mason Plumlee. The Nuggets gave up so much to get him.

Would the Suns be interested as a replacement for Len?

Plumlee can play power forward and center.

Mason is one Plumlee I could get excited about, but I would have nagging doubts because of Miles turning lackadasical. Mason's defensive stats are good (tracking data, defense at rim), rebounding good (10.2/36), FG% .534. He's not a good FT shooter .580. What I like is 4.8 asst/36 with asst/TO > 2. We could really use that even with Ulis at point.

I don't know why Denver would be willing to move him but paying 90 mil for Millsap does make one wonder. I think they are really set on making a push now and perhaps they think Mason is too young. Hopefully, McD will investigate...

Shabazz Muhammad is now an unrestricted free agent as Wolves withdraw qualifying offer.

He is only 24 years of age.

I believe the Suns used to have interest in him.

If we didn't have Dudley then I'd want the Suns to go after Shabazz but there won't be many minutes for him if Dudley sticks around. I recall some talk from posters here about using Shabazz in a Draymond Green sort of undersized PF role but I'm not sure what that was based on, I didn't watch the T-Wolves much last year and I didn't see him playing PF there in the little I watched. He is a bulky 6'6 though, so I can see some comparisons in how he's built to Draymond but that's about it.

I don't think Shabazz is good enough to just trade Dudley away to find minutes for him either. I know we're committed to our "youth movement" which is a good thing but Dudley should be kept for veteran leadership, especially because he probably doesn't have much trade value. Not as much as Chandler, who should be traded so we can go all in on our youth movement.

McLemore signs 2 year almost 11 million dollar contract with Grizzlies.

I can't believe he signed for that little, also that Sacramento didn't tender him a qualifying offer. McLemore is who I wanted the Suns to draft in 2013 but we took Len instead. We probably wouldn't have drafted Booker if we had McLemore though, so I guess it's a good thing we didn't take him. It's odd that the Kings gave up on him like that. He's started 74% of the games in his career, 216 out of 293, is only 24, shot 38% from 3 last year, and averages 9.4 points for his career. His 3 point percentage has gone up every year also. It's not like $5.5 is an overpayment or too much for a backup SG either. He's not the pro I thought he'd be, or most scouts for that matter, the 2013 draft is one of the worst ever, but he was seen as one of the most "can't miss" picks in the lottery. He still has potential at his age though.

I feel bad for the fans in Sacramento. They fought to keep the Maloof's from moving their team and then to keep them from selling to the Seattle group who planned on buying them and moving them immediately. The group that owns them now is headed up by Vivek Ranadive who was the Vice President for the Warriors and a co-owner there. He sold his shares and resigned to head up the bid for the team to keep them in Sacramento but he's been very hands on and is behind their deal that netted them just Buddy Hield for Cousins, which their own GM came out and said he had better offers but they took that one because of Ranadive thinking Hield will be the next Steph Curry. 2 years after Ranadive left the Warriors they won their first title in 40 years, which has to sting for him, but who knows how much say he had with the Warriors.

I'm not sure what the Suns would do with Shabazz either but he is an example of quality players that could trickle down to the Suns. The Suns were interested in him once upon a time.

Again, another example of trickle down players that can be had for bargain prices. I'm glad McDonough is looking at these options.

Anybody else think the Warriors demise might be the salary cap?

I love how all these teams are going over the cap while we're not doing anything stupid (yet).

Keep your fingers crossed.

And by the trade deadline, some of the teams will be regretting these moves, locking up their financial flexibility for years to come.

Also some of the players being discarded are good players.

When someone asked about who would be the PG for Minny with Rubio and Dunn leaving, I knew they had another youngster but couldn't think of his name. Tyus Jones, third year player. Asst/TO ratio 4.0! Not as prolific as Rubio at assisting but you have to love the low, low TO's. Improved almost every stat going from his first to second year. He'll be a good backup for Teague.

I think Thibs is getting the Wolves ready to do some howling this year. He got one of his favorite players from his Bulls days - Taj Gibson. He won't have as much impact as Butler but he was a great defender under Thibs. Jeff Teague is probably a step up from Rubio - not on D, of course, but he's more aggressive on offense and Minny needs that closing out games - which they've terrible at for years. With him along with Butler and an improving Towns they should have no problems. I think they will not only make the playoffs but make some noise!
