Ouch, bad news for the clippers. Wonder if this will be the last stab for this iteration of the team, and what happens if they do indeed move on.

This summer, Westbrook could sign a five-year, $219 million contract extension that would begin in the 2018-19 season. He’ll make $28.5 million in 2017-18.

Harden could sign for an additional four years and $171 million starting in 2019 – on top of the $58.7 million owed to him in the next two years of his current contract.

Westbrook and Harden are two of the NBA’s top Most Valuable Player candidates and could join a class of Steph Curry, Blake Griffin, Paul George and DeMarcus Cousins that is eligible to earn extensions starting at $36 million a season.

The NBA needs to divvy up some of this money to benefit the fans.

Isn't Paul a free agent this summer? If he is I'd be all for hoping for a Nash 2.0 situation in throwing the bank at him to bring him in. He's the perfect type of PG to play along with our youth and could actually catapult their development enough to turn us into a playoff team.

There are probably at least 5-6 teams he would consider joining before he even thinks about Phoenix if he were to leave the Clippers though I doubt he leaves LA since they can offer him the super max plus he still has players like Jordan and Redick with him even without Griffin.

Minnesota for example, would look really good with CP3 and they could use an upgrade over Rubio as well.
Philadelphia with an up and coming star like Embiid could be a destination for him. NYK with Paul's friend Melo and a rising star in Porzingis is a good fit too especially with Rose being a FA after the season. CP3 also seems a perfect fit for Hornacek's pick and roll heavy offense. Going back to New Orleans and playing with Davis could also work well for him. Bucks are a team that CP3 could put over the top as well.

I keep expecting to see Minny get on a roll, with all that talent and a good coach. I wouldn't be surprised if beating us catapulted them into it - they followed it up by beating the Hawks on the road tonight. Their stats across the board on both ends are pretty solid - not a top team but they should should be the playoff hunt. Of course, they've been like that going back to when they had Love - many fewer wins than you'd think from looking at their stats. Its like they just can't win close games.

Report: Goran Dragic open to a trade, Heat considering options
Dragic is a dilemma. When Dragic forced a trade to Miami two years ago, he thought he was joining a team one piece away — him — from being a conference contender. Today he’s leading a roster that’s a couple of losses from falling below Philadelphia in the East basement. Dragic is open to a trade, league sources told The Vertical, and Miami has pursued that option. An early season swap with Sacramento for Rudy Gay fell apart when the Heat sought Darren Collison, sources said, and teams that have probed Miami about Dragic have found the Heat open to offers.

With the Heat looking to rebuild, here is where the two first round picks the Suns received in the Goran Dragic trade with Miami can be conveyed.

2018 first round draft pick from Miami
Miami's 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-7 in 2018 and unprotected in 2019 [Miami-New Orleans-Phoenix, 2/19/2015]

2021 first round draft pick from Miami
Miami's 2021 1st round pick to Phoenix [Miami-New Orleans-Phoenix, 2/19/2015]

Too bad the Suns do not have the Lakers pick they conveyed in the Brandon Knight trade. :(

With Dragic rumored to be on the trading block and reportedly open a trade, the Suns should not let any grass grow under their feet. If Knight has trade value the Suns need to be in the trade market as well. Maybe the Kings might have some interest. I understand the Timberwolves might be a landing place for Dragic.

ESPN Stats and Information
Anthony Davis has at least 30 points and 15 rebounds in each of his last 2 games. The last player with 30 points and 15 rebounds in 3 straight games was Shawn Marion in 2006

Thanks for all the updates Ronin. Really appreciate it since I don't watch Suns games live (middle of the night here in Norway) and don't read NBA news to avoid spoiling results of Suns games. Keep em coming!

Sacramento is now sporting the 8th best record in the West by dint of beating the Twolves. I don't imagine it will hold up long so I thought I'd the news out quickly...
