If he is there at 28 I take him.

I think that Chriss, Labissiere, Anunoby are better potential picks though.

Might throw in Dejounte Murray too.

It will never happen but I hope we keep all of our picks, 4 rookies + Bogdan or not, we have 15 roster spots.

With our picks I would be happy if we took Chriss even at #3, Anunoby at 12 and Maker/Labissiere at 28.

You're making me nervous with those numbers on maker! You don't think skal should go as high as 10 or 14 as per draftexpress and nbadraft?

That's a pretty broad range. I'll go with a lottery pick or just outside for maker. More vid - http://youtu.be/UC-Icj3FI18 - this one may be the best one of him.

As per draftexpress he does have ridiculously skinny legs and with that frame he's gonna be backed down in two seconds flat...but if he plays as a stretch 4/5 then that might not be so critical.

Fwiw in that video he can dribble and score with his left hand including round his back and through his legs, and looks to have a pretty good eye for a pass.

He's just not strong enough I've seen him on ESPN getting manhandled by 6'8" HS kids who will never get a cup of coffee in the NBA. He has a chance but has to get much stronger.

The general feeling is he's this years Mudiay in that he's effectively been told by the NCAA you're not going to clear, instead of going to China, he's going to petition the NBA to let him in the draft.

Unless I'm misunderstanding his situation not clear to me how he is draft eligible he is apparently claiming his 8th grade year was actually the freshman year.

Maker looks like a very skinny Ben Simmons with a good jumper and range out past the arc. Like Simmons he uses his height to see the floor and he makes some exquisite passes. More of a team player than Simmons - I have the sense that Simmon passes the ball because he is rather embarrassed to shoot. Maker is shockingly calm and cool for his age - he sees how the play around him is unfolding and picks the right moment to make his move - whether it be a jumper, a pass, or a drive. He reminds me a lot of Nash in that regard - though, of course, Nash could be dribbling and weaving through traffic as he did it.

If the NBA allows him to enter the draft I think he'll go in the lottery.

I thought Thon Maker looked impressive on the videos. He could be a game changer on defense into the future. This adds more talent to the draft if he is declared eligible. This should help the Suns.

Plays like Bender. Very similar strengths and weaknesses.

Interesting game that featured Simmons, Maker, Labissier, Murray, Ingram, Zhou Qi, Jaylen Brown, Rabb and more.

Maker had a game high 10 rebounds while only playing 14 minutes. He can certainly play with that bunch. He is going to fly up the draft boards. He looks, to me, like he could be drafted ahead of Rabb. McD must be licking his chops right now. There is a whole crew of big men with very versatile games (Simmons, Ingram, Bender, Skal, Maker).

Too bad for Bobby Hurley and ASU. They had the inside track recruiting him.

I was hoping the Sun Devils might be able to sign him. He would have upgraded the basketball team in a hurry. Maybe the Suns draft him.

I remember watching that game and thinking Maker could not play with that level of competition. He may have had 10 boards, but those games are more like all-star games, where rebounds aren't hotly contested, and he was 0 for 5 from the field. I distinctly remember going from thinking he was an elite prospect to being completely underwhelmed based on watching that particular game. It was 14 minutes, granted, but he just looked outclassed to me.

I can't help but think that Brice Johnson would have been tailor made for dantoni's 7 seconds or less. Particularly if he could have developed an outside shot.

I'm watching Villanova versus North Carolina in the NCAA Championship game. I can see Brice Johnson in a Suns uniform.

That might've been the greatest game ever played.

Two huge shots by both teams in the final seconds with Villanova the winner at the buzzer. I like that trailer pass by Arcidiacono to Jenkins. I'm hoping I got the names right. Great game.

I don't think he can. If he could why didn't he do it in 4 years of college?

I am with you on Brice.

I was hot for him a week ago but have cooled. The physical gifts seem perfect but there is just something missing. For sure he does not seem to be able to shoot from the outside, which is a must in today's NBA but he also is not a great finisher in traffic.

A great finisher in the paint with great hands is what I would like to see us get in this draft. Someone with a mean streak. I think Jaylen Brown has shown some of that ability. Unfortunately he is pegged as a potential bust and at the very least a project.

Who best fits that need in this years draft?

That is what disappoints me most about Alex Len. I just want him to go hard to the hole and fight his ass off for rebounds. He does that on occasion but I want that from him every minute he is on the court. On mu nights, he is far too passive for my taste.
