I wouldn't want to bring a player back who is still on blood thinners. Any injury could really be problematic, especially a head injury.

Yeah, it's a huge risk on the court and, perhaps, later on, in court.

Miami on the brink. Did anyone watch the end of that game? How does Wade's goal tending not get called?

The Rockets might be the most heartless team I've ever seen in the playoffs.

It's not goaltending if you don't touch the ball, rim, or net. I thought the replay made it a non-issue.

I thought he tipped it after it hit the backboard but I missed the super slow mo.

I noticed that too...pretty weak. We still haven't seen him without wade for any extended period but maybe I'm clutching at straws.

I'm sure he'd put up better individual stats but that wouldn't make the team any better. There are a lot of guys who can stat stuff if they get free reign of the ball all game long.

First round playoff thread

True that - I was hoping for a 40 point game winning explosion, or something similar; anything to vindicate 13-14 really but we definitely won't see that this year.

Goran is overpaid. But a lot of players are overpaid and unless it ends up costing them Whiteside or something like that, I think Miami can live with his contract. It's just not that bad of a deal IMO and barring injury it will look better each year as salaries skyrocket.

The Hawks beat the Celtics to advance to the second round of the playoffs.

Outside of the SA vs OKC matchup this second round looks to be awful, on paper at least.

But it is if you smack the backboard while the ball is on the rim which is what happened.

I am pulling for the Pacers and Clippers to win tonight. I want to see a game 7.

Austin Rivers is starting to look like a player... I had my doubts he'd ever make it. They needed CP"s wizardry in this one, though.

The Spurs are blowing out the Thunder in game one of their series. The lead is Spurs 73 and Thunder 40 at halftime.

I just finished watching the OKC vs SA, I fell behind on my DVR, it was ugly. I was going to start a 2nd round playoff thread but SA had the win cinched up by the end of the first quarter, at that point I quit paying attention but recorded the rest.

Is it just me or does this look like the best San Antonio team ever, at least at times? They have coaching, talent, teamwork and experience and tonight's beatdown has to be demoralizing for OKC. I'd be very surprised if both of their stars didn't bolt when the opportunity arises for each of them.

If Golden State isn't healthy, this team will destroy them IMO. I'd still give the Warriors the edge if Curry is at full strength but this is a very dangerous Spurs club.

I really hope Curry's healthy. That will be the best WCF matchup since that epic Kings-Lakers series back in 2002. It's got titles, superstars, team basketball, great coaches... and two of the best teams in league history duking it out. Would be a shame to not see those two clubs go head to head.

Let's hope so. Between the two of them (Spurs and Warriors) they might even bring back team basketball to stay. I haven't looked forward to a non-Suns matchup this much since the days of Magic and Bird (also 2 great team-oriented groups).

Are the Spurs players "positionless" our can you still win with players being good at their traditional role? The Marcus Aldridge is a stretch four but he doesn't shoot a lot of threes. That guy #2 is pretty well rounded but he plays small forward, not pg or center.

Funny thing is I don't hate the Spurs as much as I used to (Manny and the big three whiny faces excluded) while we were relevant. Now I just want LeFlop and LA teams to lose. Haven't seen a playoff game yet this year.
