Darnold makes the most 'wow' throws out of any prospect, but then he follows it up with a fumble. If he can clean up his turnovers...he would easily be a franchise QB. Watch his game vs Penn State last year, and you'll see throws that most NFL QB's wouldn't make right now.
If only Jeff George & Jay Cutler didn't make bonehead throws...but hey they make all the throws.

Jeff George never had issues with his ability to play QB... dude was just a raging dick with a really poopy attitude and zero leadership skills... Darnold doesnt have those issues

Darnold's natural arm talent is much much better than Cutler. Cutler probably has a stronger arm, but Darnold has superb ball placement...which is what makes him special.

Sure George was a dick, but he was also an average QB based off his stats & a turnover machine.

I'm not saying Darnold is going to be the same type of player, but IMO there are serious red flags when you turn the ball over as much as he has this season!

Buyer beware. It simply can't be ignored IMO. Talent & all the physical tools can only take you so far.

Darnolds turnovers have gone up this season.... He did lose all his experience at WR which does not help... IMO the biggest obstacle he faces this year is being the USC starting QB... its a big job with lots of media scrutiny and very high expectations...we will learn more about Sam Darnold as the season goes along...and in bowl season.

Darnold is a turnover machine alright. I'd pass on him unless it's in the later rounds. Better yet, I think another year at USC might help him

In the later rounds? He's going top 10.

I wish I knew more about Josh Allen. I've only really see him play once.

I wouldn't write off Rosen either. Sure, he comes off as a pompous ass but so is about every QB. I actually like a little cockiness in a QB and not a politically correct guy. To me, the politically correct guy tells me he's more worried about his image as much as playing the game.

I was on a business trip in FL and came across a guy from WY and he said Allen was real deal. Again, he lost ALOT of his weapons from last year and its not like WYO is a recruiting jaggernaut that they can replace guys year after year. Allen is working with a lot less so that has to be taken into consideration when evaluating him as a talent.

I like Jackson... but honestly,..where is the zip?? the velocity?... just like today, he had a fantastic statistical game,... but his guys were wide open and his passes were just lobs...I would really like to see Jackson shoot some lasers through traffic.

.
keep in mind,...I am not completely overlooking the fact that the exact same questions were on the board about Watson last year and so far he has been lights out,...well,...until he was lights out......and truthfully opposing teams are just starting to get some tape on watson so he may not even show long term success

Josh Rosen put on a show last night. He looks the clear cut #1 to me. He reminded me of Eli Manning. Kiper was saying he reminded him of Aikman.

Rosen is the only QB I'd trade up to get.

By all accounts I've seen Jackson has a very strong arm and can make all the throws. I think it's a good thing he can loft the ball and show some touch.

its obvious he has a strong arm because he can lob it 60 yards down field..
.
But like in the ucla vs usc game,..several times you heard the phrases... throwing darts...frozen rope....fires a laser....in regards to Darnold and Rosen..
Havent heard anything like that in regards to Jackson in the time I have watched him...and havent seen it either. his wr are usually behind the defender or standing alone.
if I were a GM,... before I drafted the guy in the first round or high in the second even I would like to see some fast balls out of him....see him split the safety's with a frozen rope and hit his wr in stride while rolling out

Jackson has one of the strongest arms in college football...the ball flies off his hands...that's one of the reasons why scouts love him. Thing with him is he struggles with accuracy, and he doesn't read the field very well at all. He also relies on his legs way too much, which scares me, because if Cam can get injured running the ball...this guy will get obliterated. In terms of talent...he's definitely #1 QB. In terms of being a good QB...that has to be Rosen right now.

This is just a boldfaced lie. This is what he has improved the most during the season & why more scouts are finally coming around on him.

Sure, he improved...he went from abysmal to average. Compared to Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield and Rudolph...he's still behind all of them in terms of going through progressions. He's showing that he can learn and improve in that area though, which was by far his biggest fault from a year ago.

From what I have seen, Lamar Jackson has made the same transition that Mariota did. Mariota chose to try and become a better thrower from the pocket. I have seen a similar development in Jackson form last year to this year. However, in his third year, Mariota still struggles with the change and looks unnatural at times in the pocket. I imagine Jackson will be the same. I think Jackson, like Mariota is worth a first round selection. However, you will need a good offensive scheme and coaching to help him make the transition. (that is the case for most young QBs I would add.) Ideally, you want Jackson to be able to develop into Russell Wilson/Aaron Rodgers in terms of their ability to use their mobility to extend plays and create opportunities outside of structure. It will allow him to feel more natural as a QB.
