I think I'm benching him in dynasty... but I have Aaron Jones, Rhamondre, Dameon Pierce, Dobbins, Mattison, and Mike Boone. In redraft, I think he's gotta be in the consideration set.
Nah, he'll be injured by November.Damn.
Niners are gonna be a bitch come December and January.
But, ...... at least it aint the lambs
Nah, he'll be injured by November.
From Bay Area season ticket holder buddy, in reply to me talking about this being an all-in-for-this-year move:
"49ers will not win it all. Both offensive tackles out and the two guards and center had five NFL starts between them. Meanwhile every starter on the defensive line is hurt. 7 out of 11 defensive starters are out of injuries. McCaffrey will probably go down within a few weeks. I love this team, but you might have to huf up another bong hit and watch reruns of Montana/Young to Rice if you want to see the 49ers winning."
True but the LT returned to practice this week as did Bosa. Armstead is getting closer but won't play Sunday. They get I think 3 starters back on defense this week maybe only 2.
I think they're basically saying they don't think they can win a SB with Jimmy as the QB unless they have an elite run game and with the OL injuries that means replacing a solid RB like Wilson with an elite RB like CMC, IF healthy, might make the difference
Their #1 RB who is good is due back in a week or 2…. They should have saved their draft picks.
I don't think it's a dumb trade, it's a trade to try and put them over the top this year. I get he hasn't got a ton of miles left on him, but he does currently still have the ability to win a game for you because he is clearly much better than the average back.I think this is the dumbest trade I've seen in a long time.
Trade that much for a 26 year old RB with that many miles on him, that's often injured, to a team where players are often injured?
They had high level running back play from Elijah Mitchell for basically free and in the last week they said he was on track to return in 2 weeks after their bye. So Mitchell might only miss one more game. He had 1100 yards from scrimmage last year in only 10 starts. He had 90 yards a game rushing at 4.7 YPA.
I just don't get giving all that capital for basically little gain on what you get from Mitchell. But I'm all for it.
He's playable. That offense is so rb friendlyI love it Thts a lot of draft capitol for a recently oft injured RB…. I have to decide if he’s playable this week in fantasy lol
His injury history is about the only downside to the trade. Because he is, most likely, going to be on IR sooner rather than later.Man the myopia on this board can sometimes be hilarious. All those bashing this trade must either be GMs or looking to the future bc the only reason to bash it are non-football reasons. They are getting a pro bowl talent without giving up talent. They have a talented but oft injured rb now. With two their odds of having one at all times goes up exponentially. The reason their run game is so successful is scheme creates contact much further down the field which should have a positive effect on cmc. For a team that sees an opportunity now this is nothing but a win.
But that still doesn’t make the niners worse today because they didn’t give up talent to get him. Future picks don’t impact the team this year. His injury history is about the only downside to the trade. Because he is, most likely, going to be on IR sooner rather than later.
Until Garapolo inevitably gets hurt.Sounds like they beat out the Rams for him.
If he stays healthy this makes SF the best offense in the division IMO
