It seems like Chriss and Bender alternate turns being lost causes and exciting prospects. Chriss will look promising and Bender will struggle or vice versa. Unfortunately, there have been some periods where they both look bad and the stretches where they both look good are few and far between.

I'm hoping Chriss is on his way. It's all attitude with him.

Hopefully Bender is a year behind.

I hope so too. I just don't get Bender. He is playing as if though he were scared of something. Dude, you can play, stop acting like a damn rookie!

if you think a 20 year old is a lost cause you should be on first take with stephen a giving hot takes.

I think @ColdPickleNachos is simply stating facts. There are periods where they both look lost out there.

Also there are periods where the light comes on.

No one has lost hope for either player.

I was being hyperbolic for effect (perhaps without a deft touch). I certainly don't consider either to be a lost cause, but as a Suns fan they certainly make me feel like they are lost causes at times.

Side Note: My new New Year's resolution is to get through 2018 without being mentioned in the same sentence as Stephen A. Smith. Ouch.

Maybe I'm thinking more of the realgm suns board, which I can't even read anymore. If you listen to them Josh Jackson is a bust, Chriss will be out of the league next year.... Etc

Yeah. For the record, I'm strongly in the "way too early to tell" category on Jackson, Chriss, and Bender. The only players I've been consistently negative on are Mike James and Brandon Knight. I hate me-first point guards, particularly ones that aren't that skilled.

This is the hope IMO.

He should have value to a playoff team.
I went through every playoff team and could not find a viable trade. Cleveland is the only one but I don’t know what they have that we would want.

I know this is a homer board, but the RealGM "haters" are mostly right. I doubt Chriss is ever a consistent player. His only constant is his propensity to foul out. Bender is garbage. It's incredible how much hype surrounded him going into the draft. Jackson does look like a bust. He hasn't even flashed the defensive ability we heard about. All of these guys are adrift and have so much to work on. How many projects have turned into great players? Not many. No one wants to admit it, but we are looking at four high lottery busts if you count Len.

There is always the injury factor and the insurance factor. I would be happy with future 2nd round picks.

Canaan is looking good at PG but this is not new.
Then why is he not starting? Playing catchup game after game takes a lot out of a team.

Granted, Canaan has not been given much time, but he is our most talented Point Guard right now. This is supposed to be the time to see what gels.

And switching Booker to the Point in the 4th quarter to be our top distributor as well as top scorer is going to take its toll, as well. He's going to be an old man by the time he's 25.

Michael had a balanced team. Magic had a balanced team. Bird had a balanced team. The Suns are not a balanced team. Everyone getting playing time is either too old or too young. Or too flawed.

Well thank you for gracing all us homers with your presence, what would we do without your great insight.

I don't see anyone here crowning the 3 20 year olds... But someone calling them all busts and lost causes already what is a good word for that... Moron.

I'm glad we have this forum to post on.

There are some good posters on RealGM but I find this forum more knowledgeable even if we inflate the value of our players. I find they tend to overrate players there as well.

The Suns are more into developing the players on their roster than winning as I see it.

Again Booker is going to play the final minutes of a game. Why not give him the experience of running the team?

Playing PG is not going to hurt Booker any more than Curry.

It also allows the Suns to put more scorers on the court.

It took five years for the light to turn on for Len so can players be written off in their second season?

BC, I love you like a brother, but that's nonsense. Playing point guard for 4-6 minutes pergame is not going to magically age Booker at a 200% rate. There is nothing wrong with experimenting with Booker at PG for a few minutes.

Can't wait for Bender and Chriss to average 9/9 in year five.

Incredible you can see the future? Why are you posting on a homer message board instead of working for a front office?.

There are countless examples, just look at oladipo this year, people thought okc made a great move just getting out from his contract.

Look at the jump aaron gordon made just by working on his jumper.

Those two were amazing in college and showed glimpses in the NBA. Bender and Chriss do not fit that profile. Jackson was a good college player but he has a lot to work on.

Yup. Hasan Whiteside is another example.

Why not just say that in your opinion, they will not achieve their potential, or they will not live up to our expectations, and give some reasoning behind your opinion instead of being a condescending prick?

No, that's what Len is producing after the light turned on in year five. You'd probably be thrilled with that, though.

OK, my brother, I exaggerated. And didn't really make my point. We're supposed to be developing our future team. Does that mean Book switching to the Point in the 4th quarters? Is it a coincidence that, since implemented, his last two 1st quarters have been underwhelming? I'd rather see what Canaan can do opening and closing games at the Point.
