Right... so, again... the weed must have been what? Placed into his system by someone else without DWaste knowing about it?
I'm lost on your line of thinking dude. He got "busted" by the league for pot - 8 times! Not sure where you're going with this...

again, it's cognitive dissonance... even trying to minimize whatever he did, by presenting ridiculous arguments that make very little sense except to split hairs, trying correct the people who have correctly slammed this idiot for his repeated idiocy.

The phrase being busted doing something implicates someone catching you in the act

Certain drugs stay in your system for long periods of time. Failing a drug test is a form of being caught doing drugs. Your employer isn't going to fire you because you have tainted urine. They are firing you because the tainted urine proves you went against their rules (and the laws of the land in most places) and you used prohibted drugs. Sounds exactly like "being caught" to me. Are we really arguing over semantics about drug tests? Wow.

I'm not trying to minimize anything, just didn't find the phrase to be accurate. Had nothing to do with fighting those who have been angry with him for years

Here you go 82. That's where I was going with it. You interpret being busted differently. That's OK with me.

Not trying to be a smart-ass BRR... I just fail to see where you're going with this.
To me, it's about as cut & dry as it gets. He tested positive (got busted) 8 times. I think on this board and in this forum, we all know that a positive drug test = BUSTED by the league, no?

PSA: pot stays in your urine long, nothing else lasts over 7 days as far as illicit drugs go. Most of them are undetectable after 72 hours.

Really? Ok... But it seems pretty apparent that Dwaste has skills not just on the football field, but also when it comes to doing illegal drugs and avoiding the po-po! ;)

I want to see k9 smoke some weed & then post about Cardinals football. We would see a more laid back easy going k9 I think. Not that there's anything wrong with his posts now.

It doesn't matter what the majority of Americans think his employer says it is against the rules. Much the same way mine does. You'd think he d be mature and dedicated enough to leave it be as long as he wants to continue to be a well paid NFL player. All the failures show is his desires outweigh his dedication to the team, the fans and the league, he is all about himself.

Maybe he thinks his freedom outweighs playing in the NFL?

It was his choice. We didn't lose him - he lost us. He chose weed over his teammates and the fans.

Here is a violin for the guy that cannot follow simple rules: :violin:

Rules that are unjust. Smoking a cigarette which is waaaaay more harmful is okay but marijuana is not.

If smoking pot is worth more to him than making millions he is an idiot. I make significantly less and there is no way I would jeopardize my income for the freedom to smoke weed.

that's great... the NFL doesn't and Washington KNEW this and IGNORED it REPEATEDLY. THAT is abandoning his teammates because he did what he wanted to do, regardless of the consequences.

He choked her hard enough to leave marks on her neck and then pushed her hard enough to the ground where she broke her collarbone. And was CONVICTED of assault. None of that is based on judgement. It's FACT. Your suppositions that it was a two-sided altercation are NOT.

He abandoned the potential for a great career and another huge payday...these guys are not in the military and they are not all close. Do you look at work like abandoning your workmates...ahhh, that amazing car salesman got fired for smoking weed...I can't believe he abandoned us...this is a joke...wah wah

All I said was it was two sided...She ADMITTED that in the statement...did you read the police statement cheesy?

I think most of us just want a ruling one way or another. The uncertainty and lack of a timely punishment is a complete joke by the league.

The letter of the law side of the argument wouldn't cut Washington any slack if Jesus appeared on the clouds smoking a blunt and saying, "Hey, man, weed is cool everyone! Just thought I'd clear that up!"

A theory:

Goodell reinstates Washington after game 6. That way he applies the new 6 game minimum policy for DV. If he reinstated Washington now and then suspended him for 6 games, Washington and the NFLPA would immediately appeal the suspension, and likely win, based on the incident occurring prior to the new policy.

Money isn't everything. You can have millions & still be poor. ;)

You can have millions and still be an idiot too. If the "freedom" to smoke weed is more important to someone than financial freedom, that person is an idiot.

I can agree its stupid but if he prefers one thing over another, its none of my business. Not everyone has the same priorities and goals.

That may be true while he's living the high-life, but when the money is all gone then we'll see if he thinks it was worth it. Not to mention what he did to his teammates.
