I had dinner last night with my FO friend and I asked if he knew anything about DW. He didn't have any specifics but I wouldn't expect him back anytime soon. He was talking about how tough it is for a guy to come back once he's that far into the NFL testing system.

They can, and do, test the player very often and very random. The lifestyles these guys have had the past 10, or so, years is very hard for them to break. He was telling me about a WR they had, not Justin Blackmon, that was as good a kid as you could ask for but could not stay off the weed. They sent him to rehab more than once but he was just addicted. And, when they constantly test you, it's hard not to slip up.

The key is to stay out of the program because you basically get tested once or twice a year and you pretty much know when it's coming. He said 33(I think that was the number) guys tested positive at the combine this year.

Any updates here? This is crazy...nobody seems to know what is going on and it is getting zero publicity. Its like hes not on the team anymore.

Theoretically, he should have been pegged to hit the field week 5.

The only logical conclusion at this point is that he had another slip up.

Exactly. I never think of him anymore. Especially with Minter playing out of his mind.

I really don't care what happens with him. He is such a nonentity to this team now.

I don't think of him until someone inevitably brings up a thread. When I see it I know there is no new news lol.

But him and Minter are very different players. Minter does not have that same speed. Minter has not had the same impact. However, Minter is on the field. Not smoking weed at home.

Sure, we all know DWash is way more talented than Minter. But, he doesn't do us a damn bit of good when he 1) gets suspended and 2) can't get reinstated unlike basically every other suspended player in the NFL does.

I'm telling you. Dwaste is on a boat somewhere. High off his ass, having parties, women and his crew all blowing through his remaining money. He's going; "Did I do the reinstatus thing? Shhhh man I musta did it. Why dont they call?"

In a way you guys are letting DWash disappoint you one last time, and you really shouldn't. If he wanted to be back he would be causing a disturbance. He would be tweeting and appealing and going after this inaction if he was really ready to play. The only people who are stressing about it are the fans, which is sad. Really really sad what this dude did to himself, and this team, and the fans who continue to believe in him.

He's not doing any of that. So I'm going to assume he doesn't care. He got that roster bonus and said; peace!

I think honestly the biggest disappointment, if you can call it that, is the lack of information.

The veiled comments by folks like Darren Urban and Gambo just raise even more questions and make it all the more mysterious. If the guy screwed up again, why isn't it news? We got all the minutiae of the Ray Rice thing.

I gave up on this pipe dream a while ago. Even if he came back, he'd not be in game shape, owes another suspension, is 2 years older, and will likely get popped again.

That bait's been cut. Sounds like BA is fishing elsewhere too.

If he comes back this season clean and sober, then it's an added bonus. At this point, however, it's time to

Cards reporters are terrible, none of them press issues nor do they perform actual investigative work. They're more PR reps than anything else.

If Washington was a member of the Steelers, Cowboys, or Patriots, we'd hear non-stop updates about him.

Unfortunately, he's a Cardinal and no one nationally could give two ****s about him.

For example, look at Bobbie Massie. He was suspended for two games and Schefter gave the story surrounding his suspension AFTER he was reinstated.

It's actually impressive that nobody leaked that info. MB runs a tight ship.

I agree with most, this is so mysterious. How has a reporter not even asked BA in a presser??? Something...anything.

And for those of you who say hes done and to forget about it, why would I? The guy was potentially the best player on the entire team a couple of years ago. If Tyrann can get his stuff together, whose to say Dwash cant? They already said he got a reduced probation and classes due to compliance, and no issues.

I haven't seen a single thing out of Dwash through this that tells me that he has any desire to be an NFL player. Why isn't he fighting it? Why isn't the NFLPA in his corner? I don't see any fight or desire in him right now. The NFL is incredibly vulnerable when it comes to the punishments that they have issued, but he's not doing a damn thing about it. It's almost as if he is content with the money he has and the freedom to light up whenever he wants.

They asked both BA/Keim during TC and they said they moved on. Asking them now is kinda pointless. If you're covering the team on a daily basis you don't wanna piss off the coach who you meet with several times a week because of the same pointless questions.

this point has been raised before and some people will claim there's a "confidentiality" agreement, but they've never been able to answer the idea that it's the NFL who's prevented on commenting from drug-use problems, not the player.

if he was being wronged and wanted back in the league, with the way the NFL is being bitch-slapped in EVERY manner of punishment, both he and the NFLPA be screaming about it. No doubt in my mind.

For those citing the NFLPA, this is a tweet from George Attalah not too long ago speaking to Cards fans briefly about the situation:

https://twitter.com/georgeatallah/status/641746272433635328

Well that seems pretty telling. NFLPA won't share the negative information they have available because they believe that should be up to Daryl it seems. Daryl has nothing to say on the matter because he messed up and has literally disappeared himself.
