I agree it’s a limited data set. And I agree Miller isn’t a great coach, that said he has ALWAYS hung his hat on defense. His teams (until this year) have almost always been pretty good defensively. And that’s what’s even more concerning, he had this beast in Ayton and his defense was worse than normal (yes the other guys seemed to stink defensively also - but a lot of them played the prior year and didn’t stink as badly as a team).

Finally, as I explicitly stated . . . I am just reporting what I PERSONALLY SAW. Those were my actual personal impressions and takeaways from watching him. It doesn’t mean that it will all automatically translate to the nba or that he can’t, or won’t, improve. Those were just my own personal obvservations from having watched, and keyed in on, him.

This is what I have seen in the dozen or so games I watched of U of A

I think Suns should draft Trae Young as PG and would give the team an extremely dynamic and young back court on par with many of the best in the West, especially 2 years down the line.

PG: Trae Young
SG: Devin Booker
SF: TJ Warren
PF: FA, Julius Randall/Derek Favors?
C: Chandler
With the #1 pick? No. Move up for him? Sure.

We shall see...he is this draft's Curry. Your offense would be sick.

And the defense would be atrocious....and we don't know how well he would co-exist with Booker....and the Suns might be able to get him with a trade up, without sacrificing the chance to draft a potentially GREAT big man.

As I've said many times, I think Young is going to be fantastic in the NBA. But I agree, Ayton is the safer pick and the winning play is to draft both of them. That's only happening by trading back up and that only happens if at least a handful of teams believe the anti-hype about him. Long shot, IOW.

Who would you rather have on your team:

1) Blake Griffin
2) Hasheem Thabeet
3) James Harden
4) Tyreke Evans
5) Ricky Rubio
6) Johnny Flynn
7) Steph Curry

I think we're looking at a similar breakdown as the guys expected to be drafted ahead of Young.

Young shares the ball and I don't think it would be a problem for Booker. Young will force the D to extend and Booker and TJ will get more open looks.

If you want to keep up with the Dubs, Rockets, Thunder offenses of the West you should draft him.

I think Ayton can be better than 1 and 2. He's not comparable to the rest.

I think Ayton is a lot more of a sure thing than Young. He's a freak athlete, with a polished offensive game. Its rare that a big man of his caliber is available. Usually once every 5 years or so.

Don't try and keep up; do something different that those teams have to account for. If Ayton can be a competent 3 point shooter, the Suns will be deadly. That's why I would want a trade up from 16. The Suns don't need a plethora of young players, they need a few stars. I think Ayton is the most likely to be a star in this draft, followed by Doncic, and then a group of about 4-5 players like Young that could be too.

The Suns need to throw a package at the Grizz that includes at least a decent player (Warren?) and picks. Take on Parsons ugly salary and have him be a rotation shooter. Maybe 16, Bucks pick, Miami pick, Warren, and 31?

PG: Doncic or Young
SG: Booker
SF: Jackson
PF: Chriss/Bender
C: Ayton

That's going to be a pretty strong lineup 3 years from now....right around the time GSW is probably falling apart. It's a lineup that has size, play making ability, and some 3 point shooting.

We are not looking to keep up with them. We are looking surpass them when start to descend.

I cant see PHX trading up for him unless he slides past 10...You'd have to give up a lot, IMO to get back into top 5-7 (which is where I think he goes).

I like Young, but he ain't close to a Curry level player. Curry's handles are ridiculous and he has sneaky quicks/springs in his legs to be able to not only get to the rim against anyone and finish but be a decent rebounder as well (5 per is impressive).

We're the worst team in the league. Ain't about trying to "keep up" with the Dubs or Rox... it's about seeing the wave of the future and being ready to strike once your reign is over.

NBAdraft.net has Doncic sliding to 5 and Young moving up to 3.

I just cannot see Young going ahead of Bamba, JJJr, or Doncic.

Someone from Cal. proposing that we choose Warren over Jackson at SF and Chandler over Ayton at Center going forward is like
someone from Phx. proposing that Kobe Bryant should have been traded by the Lakers for a draft pick.

Ah, you call yourself "LoyaltyIsaCurse". April fool! I get it! :D

lol... you think the Warriors are A) going to STILL have ALL those guys on 200 million dollar contracts by then and B) be winning titles when Steph and KD are 36 and 37?

Your takes get more laughable with each passing post.

Yeah the rumor already is Draymond wants a supermax deal after this next season. It sounds like Durant is sticking around but next year may be the last year those 4 guys are together. People might think ok let Draymond walk and you still have the 3 great scorers but with an aging Iggy and no Draymond the defense probably falls off a cliff.

I'm enjoying it while I can I just don't see it going more than another couple of years

If this rumor has any truth, McDonough needs to include himself in the deal.

Or he'll be ridden out of town on a rail.
