Another upset player ending his journey with the Cardinals
There is a time u can go in a different direction especially when a player get a bit old but the front office i guess is not good relating with players

To be fair he wasn't good last year. He had 10.5 sacks after having 5 in game 1. That's bad.

And he was awful vs the run.

I'm sure his agent want's him to get paid like a top tier edge but he just wasn't that player last year.

I wouldn't resign Jones considering his demand but..
I just questioning how front office handle those kind of situations

This draft is loaded with edge guys according to all the "experts" I've listed to. BUT, what are the odds Keim selects one of them and he's the bottom of the barrel? I'm betting on pretty good odds on that.

You could make the argument that if they expected Kliff to take a few years to adjust to the NFL, and you're willing to shoulder that for future gain, why pair him with a #1 pick QB off the bat and risk wasting several years of his rookie deal?
Because when might the Cardinals get the #1 pick again? I'd be willing to bet that KK and Rosen would have won 5-6 games that 1st year, just like KM did.

With Kliff + Rosen? Probably every year.

Hell they could have suffered Kliff plus Rosen for a year to earn his stripes and had Herbert the following year.

There are some guys I really like. The problem is it's very rare for rushers to come in and be great right away unless they are top 10 picks. And even then it's hit and miss.

The odds of a rusher at #23 getting 10+ sacks, 25 QB hits and 40+ pressures is practically none existent.

I think the only reason Kliff was brought in was because of Murray being the #1 pick. If we were sticking with Rosen, I really think that KK would not have been hired as our HC.

Maybe, but the absolute only way to guarantee you'll get a shot at a top QB is to have the #1 pick. After that, it's all how the dominos fall.

Kingsbury was hired a week before Murray declared for the NFL Draft. There was no guarantee it would all line up. Remember, the A's were putting the full court press on Murray for weeks, to return to baseball and was being very coy in interviews at that time.

Jones has had a number of years like this though...watch...next year he'll get 17 sacks and be in the DPOTY coversation.

Or he's nearing the end. It's a gamble.

Sounds like whichever route they go will backfire. Extend him and his twilight years don’t age gracefully while crushing the cap. Let him go and rejuvenates himself at 31 for the Patriots.

Not really.. already very outlined statistically in previous posts that unless your name is Reggie White you’re practically cooked as a pass rusher at age 32 abs older
