Something tells me we’re still going TE. At least in the 3rd round.
That would be head scratching, considering our needs and lack of top picks. Not that we don't need young talent at the position, but still. I also note it's what you think the team will do, not necessarily what you would do. We shall see.

Completely agree. The only way I want to see a new TE on this team, is via UDFA. Waaaay to many holes to fill.

The reason why we want more FA signings? We know Keim sucks at the draft, so we'd rather him go the free agency route. He can't possibly as bad at free agency as he is at drafting.
Free agents are used to fill holes. Hopefully you're going into the draft with a loaded team and use FA to supplement, maybe make a splash if you're close, but when you draft as badly as Keim, the only avenues to fill major holes are roll the dice FA and trades.

It's a vicious cycle - it worked when Steve pulled a few tricks (Freeny/Cromartie type guys) and a few trades (Nuk/Chan). Constant failure at the draft and not extending the right guys at the right time (Reddick/Kirk) is why we're full of holes at key positions and desperate for anything to improve the team at this point.

It shouldn't be this way! Surely this isn't the plan Keim sold to MB to ensure he'll be around for another half decade, right?

If we trade back with our 2nd or 3rd to nab a 4th, I could see it. The 3rd round is where the spot starts to sweeten for TEs. They rise while the value for EDGE & CBs goes down imo. It’ll also show that Kliff will continue to go more & more 12 personnel.

Because they do.
Moving photos around is a tad different then Completely scrubbing. And I’m sure it’s a coincidence his agent did his BS directly after right?

Interesting analysis on injuries. Cards were 22nd in the NFL in terms of "injury luck" (lower = more games lost to injury).

fwiw: Rams were 5th. Seattle 6th. SF was 29th

There's a rumble in my stomach, which could be today's Mexican lunch but I feel that it's actually a sign from my bowels that a 'signing' is imminent.

I trust my gut!

If there was snow on the ground I'd use my appendage as a diviner and spell out the name.

This deserves its own thread. Cards' offense was actually twelfth-healthiest last season, which points to incompetence at QB as the cause of the late-season swoon and not Hudson/Hopkins, etc.

Defense ranked 26th in AGL, which might explain why it seemed like we wore down at the end.

I agree with everything that you said except for maybe the last paragraph. The Rams have proven that you can build a team, and even with the big one in free agency.

I feel that. I know we're screwed RE Keim and his drafting. But that doesnt make me want to pursue a course that I philosophically disagree with. I want us to develop our own talent. with a smattering of signings for depth, and on the rare rare occasion, make a big splash. This wasnt the year for that for us.

Cards Underground is depressing AF. They don’t have any answers and can barely come up with a defense for the off-season so far.

Tough position for them to be in when there is literally no news.

Cardinals were bottom ten in AGL the past two seasons. If they can stay healthy...

Fournette was 2nd in rushing DYAR and 11th in success rate.
Conner was 23rd in rushing DYAR and 22nd in success rate.

They are not the same.

Fournette has one of the best run blocking O lines in the league. Conner does not.

@JohnnyVenerable

A.J. Green averaged 38 yards over the final five games of last season. He had zero catches in the team's playoff game against the LA Rams. Green will be 34 when next season kicks off. The Cardinals need to go younger. If anything, give his targets to Antoine Wesley.

This is a lie. Green had 59 cards per game over the final 5 games of the season. Including over 100 yards vs the Rams in the game at State Farm.

I assume he's conveniently skipping that game and counting the play off game where the whole offense and Kyler were absolute garbage.

Antoine Wesley in the same games never topped 30 yards in a single game and averaged less than 24 starting in place of Nuk.

This is a garbage take from Venerable.

Hernandez is atrocious.

Right up Keim’s alley.

Kenny Golladay averaged over 70 YPG in Detroit. Had 37.2 per game last year in New York.

That whole franchise is a talent destroyer.

We made Reddick look like trash for 3 years. How many players have we had that were poor here then went on to be very good elsewhere? Happened last year with Devondre Campbell.

So u think Hernandez is a gamble to take
I read his pre draft analysis and there was some potential, he could be a mauler in the running game, hope pans out and a can be an efficient right guard and hopefully drafting a guy like Zion Johnson would make our interior line a position of strength
I have my doubts regarding Humphries at left tackle

No one should give KM a complete pass on his shortcomings last season, but it's important to factor in that Hudson missed 4 starts, Pugh 3, and that we had a revolving door at RG.

If we sign Hernandez and have a right side competition between him, Jones, Murray and Beachum with the losers, so to speak, as G/T backups - we are in better shape going into 2022 - IMO.

As for Will Hernandez, Sean Kugler was his coach for all four years at UTEP. Became a top prospect because of Kug
