Some of the comments on this board are such a joke when it comes to Murray. Take it from someone who’s been a round a long, long time as A Cardinal fan, he’s the greatest young QB in Cardinal history. There were many reasons why we struggled down the stretch last year. About 10% can be attributed to Murray. Those on this board have already been wrong in their criticism, and they will continue to be wrong.
I agree, some of the comments, such as the above, are a joke. More than 10% of the problem can be attributed to KM's injury problems alone. You can't contribute from the treatment table.

Not if they don't get their head in the game, they don't. Game reps only carry you so far. QBs improve into their mid-30s, yes, but only if they really apply themselves. We all on this board know that Kyler needs to mature in his approach to the game or he will never reach the heights he has the potential to reach. If he doesn't consciously change his approach, Kirk Cousins is his ceiling. If he DOES...well, we don't know what the ceiling is, then.
He's already pretty much as good as Kirk Cousins NOW...so you're saying he won't get better?

I think he pretty definitively stated “if he doesn’t consciously change his approach, kirk cousins is his ceiling.” Clearly that contemplates him being capable of getting better. But it’s conditioned on kyler changing his approach, which is reasonable, no?

It's the same old people complaining about the same old nonsense. Everyone saw how poorly Mahomes played when his OL went down in the SB against Tampa. And his WR group was still intact as was his D (even though that has always been suspect). Yet Murray lost Hop & Moore, never had both his RB's healthy, had crap OL like Jones & Garcia to deal with (against the best defensive lineman in NFL history), no DL the last month of the season, and a crippled secondary also. But he somehow was expected to be Superman and rise above. Football doesn't work that way.

Which is why I said that Hard Knocks might focus him. There's going to be outside cameras and audio on him all the time. Locker rooms, practice, at home. This will be the first time anyone really gets to see the true Kyler rather than the various different versions everyone seems to have.

He can get better, sure. Will he get better? Not if he doesn't mature and change his approach, no. He'll be a stats monster and sometime playoff player, but he won't get anywhere, and neither will the team.

On the flip side, if he does do what he needs to do, well, the sky is the limit. In that instance, multiple super bowls are the ceiling with regular deep playoff runs the norm.

This - I’ve made the same comparison numerous times. It gets ignored

22. Arizona (11-7, lost a wild-card game to the Rams)

Something doesn’t feel right about the 2022 Cards. Part of it’s the pointed dissatisfaction of quarterback Kyler Murray and his agent over a new contract. Part is the six-game suspension of the best player on the offense, DeAndre Hopkins, to start the season. (That means Hopkins will miss at least 13 games over 2021 and ’22.) Hollywood Brown arrived in trades to buttress the receiving corps, but Christian Kirk left in free agency, as did the most dangerous player on defense—pass-rusher Chandler Jones. It’s an odd vibe around the team, and the attitude in negotiations with Murray this summer will tell a lot about the chemistry of the locker room coming training camp.

No way this team is 22 of 32. This team is still in the top half of the league as it stands.

Kirk Cousins is no where near is ceiling, even if he doesn't improve any more. Weird comparison.

Has nothing to do with walking on water. After like 100 years, we finally have a young star QB. Star? Yes. 3 years, OROY & 2 Pro Bowls attest to that. So, while we have people on this board that spend way too much time criticizing him, I will be that guy that supports him without any reservation. In a sport that absolutely requires having a QB in order to win, I sleep very well knowing we have Murray.

He's 24 stinking years old!!!!!!! Many great QB's didn't win crap early in their careers. And many of them weren't drafted by maybe the worst team in NFL history. By one of the worst franchises in NFL history. I have to laugh at a fanbase that's only seen maybe 10 great seasons in their 100+ years of operation that wants to criticize a player who's team has gone from 3-5-8-11 in his 1st 3 seasons. He hasn't won anything? When has this team EVER won anything? We better pray Murray doesn't go to a franchise that actually knows how to win. Otherwise, you'll spend every Sunday vomiting into a garbage can watching him win elsewhere.
