Eduardo Rodriguez logs first quality start in Diamondbacks 6-2 win over the Rockies

The Diamondbacks salvaged the series finale over the Colorado Rockies with a 9-4 win at Coors Field. Eduardo Rodríguez showed why Arizona went after him in the offseason, striking out a season-high 11 in 6 1/3 innings for his first quality start of the season.

Corbin Carroll homered twice, Randal Grichuk also went deep, and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Colorado Rockies 9-4 in Denver on Wednesday. Left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez (3-3) had a season-high 11 strikeouts with five hits, two runs and one walk allowed in 6 1/3 innings for Arizona.

Today my season ticket rep asked if I wanted to buy more playoff tickets. The Dbacks organization is absolutely counting on that playoff money and that is what worries me here. Kendrick raises his payroll by like 50% and they are worse. The historics behind that aren't good. Is he going to pay Christian Walker to not make the playoffs? I am not confident.

Just want to point out that with 7 games still remaining, this team is already 3 wins better than last season. I won’t chronicle the endless list of challenges this team battled thru this year, but IMHO, the fact that this team is poised to exceed 90 wins this year is nothing short of miraculous!

4 & 1 with 6 games left… Would’ve though 4 & 1 would be good enough to create greater distance from the Mets and Braves… nope.
That said, I think if we can take 2 of 3 from the Giants, and the Mets can take 2 of 3 from the Braves, the Braves would be eliminated and we would at least have the third WC spot locked up…
