but doesn't that make the most sense considering that all we can do is hypothesize and argue based on historical facts and conjecture? that's when debates are likely at their height. once we seem them perform the disagreement decreases exponentially because we see them either succeed or fail.

I always kind of wondered if you weren't being obnoxious purposefully on ocassion to get a 2 week vacation so you could get some work done. And here I thought I was doing you a favor by pleading your case to the mods to get your time off reduced.

I don't post much at all, but I've never felt like anyone's posts were over-the-top. Granted, I haven't been a member of this forum for very long, but I've been a Cardinal fan my whole life and a football fan much longer.
To be perfectly frank and honest about it I actually like posts criticizing players, coaches, or management, and I'll tell you why: because I'm such a homer that I'm full of the koolaid until someone points out some errors in my thinking. After we got Kolb and Peterson and Heap I was drunk on Koolaid, told my boss we're back to the playoffs, so the next day he returns from watching a practice and tells me they're probably .500 and then he proceeds to "criticize" our defense etc etc etc. Without that, I'm literally lost: I've been expecting the Cards to make it to the playoffs (every year) since they moved here!
There's nothing wrong with criticism (as long as it's not personal). I wouldn't even be able to stabilize my own viewpoints without these criticisms on this board. And frankly, some of the best, well-thought-out posts by you guys are posts where you're passionate and asking (begging, really) for change.
Not to sound too sappy, but I think this board and its posters are "special" (and I don't mean special olympian special). I read every day and posts rarely because I feel most of what I could say has been said. It's rare I would spend 2 or 3 years reading a site when I've got nothing to offer...and yet I'm still here.
Keep up the good work guys.

Just a bad pic! It was fro'd out so I pulled it down on the sides thus the "part" (not bald spot)! My dreads will be nice when I cut them off at the big game.

This type of thread is now officially an annual tradition. Every year around this time, people threaten to leave because of the negativity. And, at the same time, others complain that we are too strict.
Actually, I thought the board was doing okay. It's not nearly as bad as it has been at certain times in the past. I remember times from '00 to '08 if I posted something positive about an individual player it was not only likely to be disagreed with but just ripped apart. Like, "Oh, yeah, he did great when the game was decided! Big deal! We're 2-7, he sucks!"

I think it should also be noted that we had a lockout this year and didn't have several months to pontificate and discuss (and more importantly, no time at all to evolve our thoughts and opinions). It's all been condensed into a single week.
I don't use it, I use the orgasm shampoo (I can't help it), toothpaste, and natural soap that is all. Listerine too but that's about it.

agreed. i pretty much disagree with everything Mitch usually says, but i never call him crazy or disparage him personally.

I enjoy the board and the give and take with its posters. Some really are a much better judge of talent on the field than I am and I respect their opinions.
Mitch is one of the most prolific writers that I have ever seen and I certainly would not want him to change or leave the Board. Of course I don't always agree with him but enjoy reading him. K-9 seems very argumentative but always has facts to back up his words. That is upseting isn't it.
Some of us which includes me get a little carried away in debates and could become offensive. That is wrong and I may post comments that I later regret but the monitors get rid of those that really become too nasty and that is certainly appropriate.
The long strike drove many of us crazy. There must have been 1,000 posts on our qb situation and who were we getting and the pros and cons, etc etc etc.
I am happy that the season is here and look forward to the ongoing discussions and debates with all on the Cards.

I agree, Mitch is a good smart dude, he's always gotta good hippie joke or two in his pocket. Kind words galore, I heard he even has a shot with Dems (lucky guy). ASFN is lucky to have him, I remember when he was getting all the street cred for calling the whole "The Leenart" not starting (like right when I joined). Loves his Cards. That one thread was the darkest I had ever seen from him, he's still the man.
