Who is Gibson?if you want a hardnosed team higher Gibson as GM.

Yeah, the Suns need more gritty players. Actually they do.He's talking about Kirk Gibson, Arizona Diamondbacks Manager. Its a joke.
This thread and idea is a hoot! Here we have folks critical of the Suns front office, calling them idiots, yet don't realize that the idea of making Barkley GM would far out stupid anything the current staff has done. Man, I'm sure glad those "idiots" are in charge rather than those who think this a good idea.

Wow, you and JC need to chill out. Instead of implying we're idiots for even thinking about this, maybe you should take this thread just as it is--rampant speculation about a front office that if they are good at one thing, it's at not showing their hands. I don't remember a Suns organization being this secretive.
The reality is that Barkley will probably never be a GM, let alone of the Suns. But in this terrible year, what's wrong with having fun with speculation? Instead we get implications that we're idiots for talking about it.
LOL! Chill out???
So it's ok to judge the decisions of the Suns front office and label them idiots, but not ok to judge the idiotic ideas of fans. Gotcha ya!
I hear nothing but harsh comments about the Suns front office and than from these same people hear some of the stupidest trade and personnel ideas. I feel ok in my relief that these folks who deem themselves so much smarter than the Suns front office wield no decision making power within the organization.

I am just trying to wrap my brain around the fact thayone would consider it a good idea. I am not used to being so much in the minority. Oh well. It isn't happening.
I'm too lazy to go back and count but I don't know that we're all that much in the minority. It probably just feels that way because some of us seem to be so far apart on this idea. A lot of fans here think it's a great idea and most of us that disagree think it's one of the dumbest ideas ever. It's unusual for normally reasonable people to occupy such extremes. Well, except in politics and religion. And, come to think of it, sports.
Steve
If the choice were only Blanks versus Barkley, then one could argue that Barkley might not be much worse. But actually there are 7 billion people in the world, of whom probably at least 10 million would be better choices than either of them. So why not get one of them instead? Blanks versus Barkley is a false choice.

True, but the thread isn't called "Who would be a better GM than Lance Blanks?" It's called "Barkley as Suns GM???"
I don't think those of us open to the idea, however out there, deserve getting slammed like some are doing.
I've not called anyone an idiot. I called the idea of CB as GM stupid. Really stupid. I'm certainly in the minority here, but I haven't seen anything from this front office IMO to warrant calling them idiots. All I've seen from fans and media is emotional reactions and unwarranted harsh criticism. The whole coach thing I agreed with them on. I agree about the Beasley gamble. I liked the Gortat trade. The only thing they've done that I didn't like or at least understand the thinking behind it was the trade of Dragic and draft pick. I certainly haven't seen anything to believe the labels and name calling I've heard. I see nothing wrong with saying to those who would put CB in the GM position that the idea is stupid. These same people haven't held back on their judging the front office harshly... and I'm not even a fan of Blanks and Babby.
I keep hearing that they don't have a plan. Huh? Of course there is a plan, aquire talent and assets. It may be through the draft, trade, or free agent signings. It's the same plan any and every team has. But, they can't know the future of who will be available or what pick they may get. These things take time and are ever changing in the league.
I feel like I'm defending this front office, but really I see the reactions and over enotional BS from the fans and media and can't help but laugh back when they themselves offer up some of the dumbest ideas right after deeming our front office idiots. I mean no offense or am I pointing at any individual. I'm just laughing that it takes real balls IMO to call someone an idiot and then suggest CB for the Suns GM position.
Mistakes will be made as they are with every team. Everyone loves to praise OKC, but had Portland taken Durant and they taken Oden, they wouldn't be where they are and their "brilliant" plan would have just been a plan. There is a ton of luck involved in building a team and gambles are a must so let's at least agree that there have been much worse front offices and that if they are going to replace this one, then we should at least set our dream hires a lot higher than Chuck.
