That is literally the same exact article posted early when someone claimed we actually tanked for Ball, specifically. That article doesn't say that the Suns are after Ball specifically either, it says that there is interest but the Suns covet Josh Jackson, which is a pretty big claim and much bigger than any sort of description of how they view Ball. It says they may want to move up for him, not Ball or Jackson individually though. Based on what McD said after the draft, it seems like he was completely sold on Jackson as being our guy.
Based on what McD said during Jackson's introduction as well as how he told the story of getting Jackson to skip the Celtics workout, it seems Jackson was actually his target. The Suns never met with Ball, so it's highly unlikely they had him pegged. From the article you posted though, I highlighted the Jackson comment.

The other article you posted doesn't say anything concrete. The closest it comes is saying that Gambo says the Suns rate Ball higher than Fultz, and I doubt they were alone in that sort of ranking. It also proposes that Gambo's comments are simply a smokescreen and the Suns are positioning themselves to trade the #2 pick if they got it so they could make a deal with a team who is interested in Ball. So you haven't provided any sources that back up your claim.
