Could it be we have at least one of the tackle spots solved?

I certainly didn't expect this at this point of the season after a very concerning pre season to put it mildly.

Fantastic game by him. His guy never touched Kolb all day.

Now about those guards...

I am thrilled with Massie so far. 2 games in and he is only going to get better.

Man, and three games into the pre season we're wondering if we can get him past waivers for the PS?!

We gonna give Grimm some props here?

OH HELL NO!

Grimm gets no props because they lucked into a first/second round talent that fell into the fourth. Grimm is probably holding him back from being even better than he should be.

Just because Massie is playing well doesn't forgive years of horrid line play from Grimm's units.

Props to the scouts and Graves and Whis for selecting the kid.

Grimm had his headphones on and was listening to Springsteen when the pick was made and heard they selected Massie..he thought, huh, I wonder if the Boss is gonna be playing in Massie, we have a game there against the Patriots early in the season.

If Grimm has anything to do with it, kudos to him.

I got to give him a little credit there. The kid is making the transition. Whiz even said they're working on footwork technique in the pre season. The advancement is pretty good at this point. Not sure if he's ready yet for prime time , but it's encouraging.

Chandler Jones is a BEAST, already.

yes he is, but it was beast vs. mouse. We need to help our mouse out as much as possible. Kolb can't be running from his blind side over and over again.

Let me get this straight. So it's Grimm's fault when a high draft pick doesn't play well (Levi), but he gets no credit when a player who fell in the draft does? I'm actually kinda tired of people putting so much blame on Grimm instead of putting the blame where it belong and that is on the management for not drafting more offensive lineman. Coaches don't teach talent, they just help to make it sharper.

Grimm was stoked when he fell to them in the 4th round.

In my mind, we have 2-3 spots solidified on the O-line. Colledge and Sendline are the first two. The third one still has to prove he can sustain his good play, and that's obviously Massie. If by week 8 he's still not injured and is playing like he did the first two weeks, we have our RT of the future.

Now what about those other two spots? Snyder and Batiste aren't doing well. I thought Hadnot did decent enough at the RG spot last year? Why did we think Snyder was an upgrade? Snyder is a Guard depth guy as well as Batiste for the tackles.

Just because I like the RT, C, and LG spot today doesn't mean I will next week. I am optimistic about them, but anything can happen. Every spot on this line can be upgraded. As an arm chair HC, I say the card's should draft LT in round 1 even if its a 3-5 pick reach. Round 2 should be another o-lineman. The priority should be this:

LT
RG
LG
RT
C

If they want to draft O-lineman that is. (I hope) Then of course there's free agency, we can only hope that some good tackles become UFA this offseason. If only Whiz and Grimm had the personnel to move Brown to RG then the running game would be beast. I understand why they wanted Brown on the LT spot because he was the best option we had at the position, even if he sucked at pass pro at times.

If we can obtain a good LT that can beat Levi Brown at the position, then and only then I could see the coaches moving him at RT or guard. Solve the LT position for next year, you solve the interior line as well. Imagine how beast it would be if this happened:

2013 first round pick-Colledge-Sendline-Brown-Massie

Even better, if Nate Potter could step up at LT THIS year and be consistent, that perhaps saves us a draft pick.

Grimm is crap. He's a crap coach who took the field at halftime to watch Bruce Springsteen sing rather than get into his line and help them in the most important game of their lives.

Coaches don't do that. He wants more Olinemen, then he needs to yell his ass off to get some. Otherwise, he works with what he has. Thank the effing lord we chose Whis and not that dude to be the head coach.

Lot of if's. Coaches like Kelemente's potential at LG too.

I know everybody hates him, but I thought Adam Snyder played a good game too.

Or, quite possibly, duller. Like Donald said, for all we know, Grimm his holding MAssie back from his full potential. And, honestly, looking at his track record, that seems more likely.

Grimm is pox on this team.

Let's not get carried away with the praise for the offense. The Cards are 31st in total yards gained and 30th in yards per play.

They've won two games exactly the way ASFN said they would have to: with Defense and Special teams play.

The Defense is 4th in yards per play, 13th in total yards per game and 5th in points per game.

We haven't see defensive numbers like that to start the season since probably 1994.

Mildly suspect... that only thing you know (or should know) about coaching an O-line is that you can't do it, and are in no position to judge.

Come on, CC. This is ridiculous. By this measure none of us can have an opinion on anything except for that in which we're personally competent? I guess ASFN should shut down, then, because 99% of the posts here about about something we cannot do ourselves.

Look, I can't make a souffle, but when someone else is making it and each time it comes out of the oven sunken or burnt or raw, I know they're no good at it either. I don't need to be a chef to understand that.
