Wow 2 whole pages for a tipped pass? Don't blame the team sucking on DA... Getting 4 penalties in the second half extending drives is not good.

Hey, I curse every breath that DA breaths into his wretched body :D,
but that ball was tipped. Otherwise i think it would have lead Breaston perfectly. And Stevie should have still caught that ball. It was a little behind him.

DA made a few plays today. Yeah the shovel pass was bad. But he didn't lose the game for us.

I think he hangs onto to his job for another week.

the ball hit Breaston in the chest for goodness sake -- sure it was the "1" rather than the "5" -- but c'mon.

Steve has to catch that ball, period.

Wolfy was saying the the ball was tipped which might have slightly impacted the accuracy don't you think ?

it probably knocked it more on line...if it hadn't been tipped, it would have hit Breaston in the shins...:D

There is no way that Leinart was this bad, no effing way.
i gotta agree,i don't know what kind of career he has after this or if he ever touche's the field in houston but it seemed like despite what the staff said his fate was sealed even before our first preseason game, i don't know if this came from coaching the front office or (god i hope not) ownership!
but he never got a fair look in preseason and especially after that throw where fitz's mcl was sprained you could really see the anderson bias after that,

i remember doing a thread about the sideline interview where anderson and dockett were mugging it up for the camera, it just had the feel that everything was going wrong for matt
is that matts fault? maybe so, but if you letting the inmates run the asylum, then you letting the team get away from you
and i think we can all agree that something more than just warner leaving is occurring here
this is some of the most undisciplined sloppy play i have seen in years, across the board everyone's culpable
and that goes back to coaching, but thats another thread, bottom line is matt may have never been a hall of famer but its hard to imagine that he could put up worse numbers than derrick and look much worse doing it
yuck!

No excuse just stating a fact is all, he did plenty of dumb things to rag on hiom for but this wasn't one of them

I still can't believe the # of people on here that put no blame on Stevey for catching that completely catchable ball.

Breaston should catch the ball, Shane, but DA absolutely MUST throw a better ball. If that was a one time kind of thing, I'd put it on Breaston for sure, but this is DA. It is what he does. He's Mr. Behind the Reciever. Sometimes Mr. High and Away.

He sucks out loud...I could hear him sucking from my seats. The sound of it made my ears bleed.

First game for me seeing DA in live action. Just can't believe how spoiled we all got with Kurt. DA is bad...but, I still contend he's not nearly as bad as people continue to say. Gonna make a post-game thread and hit this one a bit more.

Never said he shouldn't throw the ball better. But they were both equally culpable on that play. It wasnt so far behind him to make it uncatchable. Not even close.

It wasn't a good throw. That is true. but it was a completely catch able ball its as simple as that. In that situation Breaston still needs to make the catch. the are both culpable in that play.

I have been saying this to myself all year. Last year, the WR's were making circus catches every game (all of Warners throws were not perfect). This year they seem to be dropping those balls. I don't know what it is but the guys last year seemed to have alot more focus on catching those tough passes.

The first throw to Fitz(got the PI call) is another prime example. That's a catch he would usually make and he just flubbed it.

I agree it wasn't uncatchable. But he was also open. As he was on the TD in the endzone, when the ball was high and behind. Forcing your receivers to make twisting grabs all the time is going to result in...well, a 50% or less completion percentage, failure to keep drives alive and fans calling for your head.

Scud is dangerous, man.

Yes, it was a "catchable" ball. But, should it have been easier to throw to the front side of an open WR on a slant or to catch a ball thrown behind and slightly low while running in the opposite direction?

This one's on Scud.

Very catchable is a better term. Its on both of them.

Barley catchable, as in barely.

Anything that hits your hands is in theory catchable, but it's tough to reach back while running the other way.

You need glasses if you are calling that "barely" ;)
