Is he injured?

I'd LOVE to have him as our #3...but I think he was overrated as out #1.

In agreement thus far. Very surprised that he was released already.

I'd definitely welcome him back to AZ if he was playing nickel corner for us. He's an upgrade over Adams/Brown/Toler and could help teach the young corners on our team a thing or two.

I cant believe there are only 6 replies to this thread. Were we the only ones watching the other night?? Hood is twice as good as Brown and a fantastic nickelback IMO. Plus, if we added him, the days of seeing Francisco on the field in nickel situations (because Rolle takes the slot) would be over.

Please please please bring him in.

If healthy would take him back in a heartbeat. Would make us better right away. Not sure if McFadden is better than him to be honest.

IMO, Hood made a lot of good plays defending on the field but then he would allow the deep throw to be completed for a TD and not turning his head once to defend against the catch, negated most of his good efforts. Think of it, if he was as good as everyone said he is, why was he cut in the first place? The CB is one of the most difficult positions to fill on any team, if he wasn't a liabilty he would still be playing for the Cards.

I'm trying to remember this, too. Why did we let him go?

You might be right... however, IMO, he was a better CB than Rolle and is probably just as good, if not a better cover FS than is Rolle... Frustrating...

I was pissed we cut him. If we resigned him I would feel MUCH better about our Secondary...

Think what you want but he was our best corner for awhile. He played very well at times. I would love to sign him.

could it be that now there is a scouting report on how to beat him so he is now more of a liability than he was before? he was a solid cb a couple years ago, for him to be in the first round of cuts, something has to be up. Either way I wouldn't expect him back, we cut him and even if we wanted him back, would he really want to come back to an organization that 4 months ago said they didn't want him?

I thought Francisco was a strong safety? Cards seem to play a lot of 2 safety defenses with both #24 and #47 on the field.

IRRC, Hood was released because he was too expensive for a nickel back. If they bring him back at a good price, he'd be perfect.

I'm guessing the injury situation with him is much more debilitatin/severe then we know.

Otherwise there is no way he gets released this quick.

Hood was released by the Cardinals because they signed McFadden to be the starter and Hood's contract was too expensive to pay a back-up corner; it would have been something like $3mil this season.

Make him an offer for #3 corner pay!
That's not really too much for a 3rd CB is it?
