People are easily exciteable.

Ken Whisenhunt did press conferences like a sock puppet and people hated it. So now Arians comes out all grover-like and everyone's like wow, this guy is REAL. He's so, I don't know, HONEST. He tells it like it is. LOL. Cmon guys.

Best part is when he talked about Kolb, and the guy has had the 'crap' knocked out of him but also talked about looking behind door number 2 if he feels his QBs on the roster cannot cut it.

I think it has more to do with having season after season where the coach pressers seemed like a politician holding back and stating nothing and just avoiding his real thoughts. I found this very refreshing from a media perspective, though it will be his relaying of info to the players which we will not see that decides the outcome.

What excuses would he have at this point? Arians basically said the system works but instead of the word system he used "plan" ;)

But I agree good presser.

To clarify, I took what Michael said as a shot at Whiz and his approach. Bruce backed that up talking about not being pinned down and building relationships over systems.

Pressers are more about personality than production. Belichick is the boringest interview ever but puts out on the field. The truth is this town is so starved for a few wins we'll latch on to anything. We're like someone who's drowning and we'll just latch on--doesn't even matter if it's a shark--we'll latch on to the first good looking piece of refuse available.

I'm not saying Arians is going to suck, not at all. But how anyone could be so enthusiastic without even knowing who he's bringing in at OC or line coach etc is ridic. Losing Horton is a loss, even if it's justified, it's a loss, but we try to sugar-coat it like we're right where we want to be. As if this is all playing out according to plan, couldn't be better...LOL. Cmon.

People always use analogies and girls etc: We're the ugliest girl at the dance and we're just happy someone asked us. We're all excited now, but just wait until we see all his zits and the fact that he talks too much and smells and doesn't have his own car. Just sayin' man.

Actually, it was Keim's description of Arians in the film room that impressed me most.

That plus "We'll take our shots long about 6 times a game, and I don't plan to leave any of them in the unused part of the playbook when I get home after the game." and "I may put several shots in the water but don't plan to regret that I passed up the opportunity to take one."

Regarding Horton - I'm not happy and worry that the decision may go down in Cardinal history as a key Franchise Wrecker. But I hope (& trust that) Coach Arians has a better idea that works and that we can move onward and upward.

Looks like we hired Ken 'Denny' McRyan.

Seems like he has a level head like Ken
Threw out stats like Dennis Green
Has the passion of Coach Mac
Made a prediction like Buddy Ryan

Though I say this all in a good way. I would say he is well rounded, but you can tell that by looking at his head and body.

Just sayin' what? So we listened to an afternoon presser about our favorite team. We wanted to hear good things about the direction of the team going forward. We looked for clues into the personality, psyche, and thought process of the organization we choose to cheer for. We want some sort of idea that they are trying to fulfill on the promise of delivering a winner and not wasting our hard earned money, time and energy.

I for one sure as hell enjoyed his press conference a lot better than I have enjoyed the last couple. I at the very least felt that BA wasn't going to stand up there an BS his way through another presser. I felt a true passion to return the excitement to this team and hopefully that translates to wins.

Sure saying and doing is two different things. This was a positive step. I'm encouraged.

As pressers go (which of course means squat when it comes to W's), this was easily the most impressive new-coach presser I've heard from any valley sports team. Arians knocked it out of the park in every respect. Seems to be a guy the players will really like, respect and enjoy playing for.
Time will tell and of course, this is the Cardinals after all... I mean, the Harboughs would struggle under the oppressive weight of this historically horrendous franchise.
But, alas... new coach and hope springs eternal!!! Go get'em Bruce!!

BA was just on the radio doing an interview on 620 sports.

All of the same stuff we already know but a new bit of info came out and it came straight from BA. He said he was tentative about taking the interview here because a lot of his friends were recently fired or still on the team. But it was a phone call from Wiz who he called "Kenny" that made him take the job. Exact Quote - "Kenny told me to take it".

Interesting.

Was Whiz just trying to stick it to Horton for staying around and trying to get his job? :p I doubt Whiz is very pro-Mikey/Cardinal right about now.

Maybe I'm gullible but I listened to him on Doug and Wolf, and I also heard them interview MB. I was impressed all the way around!

There's no reason for Whiz to have any resentment. He's smart and knew the reality of the situation. Horton on the other hand...

Well, Horton will finally deliver Norv Turner when Horton takes over for Chud in a few years in Cleveland. And Horton will finally get his HC gig.

Horton has no reason to have any either. If he does he isnt the professional we all thought he was.

It was a quality move on Whiz's part.

When are we getting Mellow Dawg back?
I was lurking over coffee this morning and found one of those brilliant posts that dag near inspired me to log on and take it to the one line zingerland, but I held back because this post of yours was burning in my head yesterday. So instead I went and took a rasta bath, full of music and smoke (tobacco, sage,...) and I feel awesome. Smell like some bomb ass eucalyptus too. Now I'm smiling for no reason and was outside in the cold playing with the pitbull.:) I'm declaring 24 hours of oldskool Dawg peace and love, even gonna try and drop the sarcasm. I don't know where Mellow Dawg went, but I think he left right around the time Lindley came in. :D
