Warner not only blew it on that play but called a timeout previously after Spurlock had run out of bounds to stop the clock. Don't believe Leinart would have screwed up there and he is a rookie for crying out loud.

Spurlock wasn't out of bounds

No, they wound the clock. It was a great looking drive until the last play.

Sadly, I knew we'd screw it up somehow. I was expecting a bad FG attempt though.

They didn't stop the clock on that play. They ruled that Spurlock was down inbounds somehow...had to burn the timeout.

I don't like the rule. I wished they would make it like the college rule. He would've been ruled out in the NCAA.

I know we have nothing to lose but I hoped we would kick the FG and not run another play. I had a feeling we would blow it.

No, you need to try and draw some of the coverage out of the endzone. If they do pack the endzone, you might be able to throw it underneath and run it in. That play was totally the QBs fault. You just cannot, CANNOT, throw it there. A guy was right on Boldin.

I cant say I agree. From where they were at you can put 3 WRs and a TE in the endzone. But none the less I would have a TE or a RB on the short routes and my 2 best WR's in the endzone with a chance to make aplay. Not 3 to 4 yards in front of the line.

Then it was a bad call. He was blasted by a DB and went out.

Unfortunately, that is the NFL rule. Once forward progress is deemed stopped, the whistle blows.

Nope same thing would have applied. His forward progress was stopped inbounds therefore its treated as though he didn't go out of bounds

Well, if something would've got us a TD there, I sure wish they would've called that play instead. I certainly wouldn't have minded seeing Boldin trying to make a catch in the endzone instead.

Just wanted to pipe in about how BAD Hellistrae is, the WORST! I can not believe this guy is doing an NFL broadcast. He belongs in the booth at JV game. What was all that crap about how a holding penalty is "every bit as good as a sack, they just don't put it in the stats" LOL! Every bit as good, that great, ONLY YOU GET ANOTHER DOWN! Moron, please don't subeject us to this guy anymore. Does anyone have a link to complain about poor talent?

Well, he technically wasn't out because his forward progress was stopped by the hit, and he was knocked backwards and out of bounds a few yards.

If you take his out of bounds location, he loses yards from his forward progress being stopped.
