I'd love to get Frye in the second round. I think he would quickly become an upgrade over Voskuhl and someday could be a useful player. I'm just not convinced he'd be much help next year and there are several guys who might be if they are available.

The Suns don't like their true centers to have much offensive skill. Sometimes they like them with NO offensive skill, but definately won't take a shooter if he can't also play small forward.

Where in the world is this coming from? I mean if you said that the Phoenix Suns haven't had centers with much of any offensive skills I would be inclined to agree, but that doesn't mean they like their centers that way.

He's 6'11, talented on both ends, runs well, is very coachable and doesn't have any attitude or laziness problems. He just needs to get stronger. With Hunter signed for another year can backup him and Stoudamire. Taking him when we pick in the 20's is smart because he won't be there when we pick in the second round.

Bennet had more talent and less character than any player I can remember. During his days with the Lakers it looked like he would become a real stud, but just refused to work and was soon out of the league. What a waste.

My concern with Frye is that he reminds me too much of Jared Jeffries. He has skills, but is not quick enough for the outside while not tough enough for the inside. If Frye is smart, he will spend about six hours a day in the weight room preparing for team workouts.

Loren Woods was very good early in the season and then just disappeared. He might be like Hunter of a year ago, but his reputation makes that seem unlikely.

I think it was Bennet unless I'm missing some obscure second rounder that didn't make the team.

Frye represents fresh legs at the 5 and he could actually produce some offense off the bench. I probably wouldn't spend a No. 20 pick on him, but if the bottom falls out of the draft, I wouldn't feel horrible if the Suns did.

I would much rather have a 6-8 power forward who jumps out of the building, hits the offensive boards and can hit a 12-foot jumper on occasion. Those guys often slip to where this pick is slated, but they seem to be moving up in the draft this year. Frye might be the guy to go to. Again, like Ike, you have a pretty good idea he could make your team. That's worth something.

That's not exactly correct. The Suns took Ben Davis with the 43rd pick a year later. If you want to get technical, the Suns drafted UA recruit Stephen Jackson the year after that with the 42nd pick.
