I'm sure the general populace of of Pottsville won't make much of a fuss.

seems we DO have a reason to be cursed. though everything was within the rules at the time, its an awfully shady way to win a championship. given that Pottsville continues in their efforts to petition the NFL for the '25 championship, i think we may be able to rid ourselves of whatever residual curse exists by awarding them the '25 championship from a group of concerned modern-day cardinals fans.

here's what i propose:

everyone chips in some cash. when i know how much cash i have to work with i'll look into the price to make a replica of the '25 nfl championship trophy. we'll have the replica inscribed with "Pottsville Maroons - 1925 NFL Champions." we send it to the mayor of Pottsville with a cover letter recognizing their plight and extending our sincere apologies for past trangressions, perceived or real (hence we don't actually admit guilt, just kinda pull the nolo contendre - it's good to have an attorney - like me - draft this cover/concession letter), and our wish to share the 1925 NFL Championship, in spirit, if nothing else, with the people of Pottsville. we would, of course, copy the league office, espn, and maybe the cardinals front office as well (though we can discuss the particulars - no need to overtly insult the cards organization if that would be the result of our actions - even if undertaken for the good of the team). i believe such an undertaking has never been done and it could only bring good karma to our birds.

so please post your proposed pledge.

i hereby pledge $50 to the cause. if we receive a good amount of pledges and we're still falling short of the costs, i may up my ante and call for additional pledges. please help support this move.

Why is Pottsville so angry now? I mean they should have complained about it when it happened, not 60 some odd years later. It is not the Cardinals, who might I add where not the Arizona Cardinals, fault that Pottsville was to stupid to see that they had been vanboozled out of a trophey. They should have been more aware, and smarter.

I think they deserve NOTHING. We won it, it may have not have been fair, but life ain't fair.

I got something to give Pottsville but it is not money.

you miss the whole point. we don't owe anyone anything. we're trying to dispell the OBVIOUS bad karma our team has in any way possible. and we're not sending MONEY to pottsville. jesus. if you don't want to take part, ignore us. but you can't say that our championship in '25 wasn't shady, 'cuz it flat out was. christ, the maroons even beat the cards in what was thought to be the championship game!

I think we should move on this. Look how many different people did all those different things to lift the curse on the Red Sox. This could take years, people. We need to getting the ball rolling.

Or I could round up some of us East Coasters and drive us up to Pottsville and try to work things out. Philly card? SWD?
