Sinking feeling: Dansby clearly wants to get paid (again). Who need a ILB worse than just about any other team? The Redskins. Yep, another team that has a history of over-paying aging talent.

Ugh.

Yea I am resigned to the idea of him being gone. If not the Titans then, Denver or someone like the Skins will over pay him especially n terms of years. It just makes no sense for a 33 year old LB.

I want Dansby back, but it sounds like he is in full-on mercenary mode again. Gonna test the market to see if he can get more than the $5-$6 million per year that the Cards reportedly offered.

Karlo$ strikes again.
Name me a free agent that isn't out looking for the best deal. Just because Dansby plays/played for the Cards doesn't mean it should be different for him.

I am not blaming him. He is worth what someone is willing to (over)pay. I am just frustrated that it is dragging out and that he will actually hit the market.

I think 2 years, $10-$12 million is a great deal for a guy his age. It is certainly more than he could have hoped for at this time last year and now he is a year older.

But the ILB market is scarce this year, so he is pretty much tops in the market at that position. If he wants one more payday, more power to him. But then I get to resent it a little when he also said he wanted to finish his career here and go into the Ring of Honor. ROH's aren't for mercenaries.

I agree it's frustrating, and that's a fair deal, but if someone wants to give him a boatload of money, so be it.

Dansby got 2 franchise years out of the Cards before the deal with the fins- I can't think of another player respected like that? His production last year was outstanding - this is about Keims production!

KD was the coverage ILB with Hayes being the thumper- Now Dwash is the coverage ILB and KD is the cover ILB #2 - quite the fantastic combination in the 3-4 until Dansby wheels run out - but even when they do he will adapt his skills - He is very smart.

if you have a great NT which I am not saying we do- I think a thumping SS is needed to enforce the middle of the field. Like ADUB but not an old ADUB.

I know that DWASH is a LB/safety combo like player- KD somewhat- too many hits in the run game will slow them both late in the year at this point.

Looks like I lost Carlos Beltran and Karlos Dansby.:D Seriously his true

market value is around 4.5 million. I cant get upset at Keim because

the offer he put on the table was fair which is all any fan can ask.

D'Qwell Jackson go 4 years, $22 million. He is a lesser player, but 2 years younger than Dansby.

Dansby is probably thinking this is the floor (or not even that, the basement) for his value.

Cards offered 2 years, $12 million, reportedly. He wants to test the market.

If he wants a 4 year deal, he is crazy. If he wants more than $6 - $7 million per year, he is probably crazy too.

well

His production last year was worth it!

He presumes he is going to match or better that this year at his age! He has done all he can to earn as much as possible -

On or off Drano - He set that standard with 2 franchise tags and the top pay in history from Miami- He has maximized his pay- and ability!

He thanks the Cards for the opportunity to show off again - and earn a top contract at 33! He won't offer no hometown discount - He'll go for the Gold!

I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up a Raider- Just Cause! And I have no ill feelings- he gave us a lot for a little last year! THAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH 1 YEAR CONTRACTS! We could have got 3 years for less last year.

If that report is true, dude's drinking drano thinking that's what he's worth.

THESMEL, Dansby would not have signed a three year deal for 7 million total last season. He is way more savvy than that. Both player and team took a calculated risk in 2013, once the market fared out. The fan in me is pissed Dansby is reportedly asking for 10 per, but the professional in me can't begrudge a man getting his full value from an employer.

ok

yea probably not- but what did he play for last year? and how much more would it have taken to lock him up?

Keims job is a hard one- but that is why he gets the big bucks! If you like the talent then- 1 year contracts - Will we have a GREAT defense every year?

I remember that. He's either delusional, posturing, or both. He's not going to get 10+/season. The offer of 6/year for two years that's on the table is as good as it gets.

Rappaport on NFL total access just said Dansby has interest from the Titans and the Browns in addition to the Cardinals

Michael Bennet plays a much more impactful postion, is younger, in higher demand and signed a 4 year 32 mill contract. There's absolutely no way KD gets anywhere close to 10 mil/year.

If the Browns or Titans want to pay Dansby over 5 or 6 mil per year for more than 2 years, they can have him. It is a step back but probably the right move. Sign Daryl Smith or one of a number of available ILBs OR use the money to sign a S and draft an ILB like Mosley or draft a guy like Shazier and move him inside. ILB is a position that provides several different solutions to fill.
