Most german curse words can be translated directly into english with the same meaning..
holy/oh/damn **** = heilige/oh/verdammte scheisse
**** you = **** you oder fick dich
dirtbag = drecksack
a**hole = arschloch
crap = kacke
bastard = bastard
crybaby = heulsuse
c***=fotze
etc etc

If what Darko said was buisness as usual in serbian language it certainly wouldn't have created such a mess...

why don't you read what I wrote stefan - nowhere did I have a problem with "holy anything" - I had a problem with "bleep their mothers and daughters in their c-word" - people don't say that all that time here and those that do are usually looked at with scorn, as they should be.

Seriously, I'd hate to have the US defined by Stephon Marbury and numerous other "what was he thinking?" types that the NBA generates. None the less, I'd be a bit concerned about his stability if I had just signed him to a big contract.

Did anyone watch the game? How was the officiating?

I saw the game. The officiating wasn't too bad. I believe Darko got a technical in the third quarter and another player from Serbia got an intentional foul with 50 seconds left or so. I thought that was a pretty cheap call. I didn't think the officiating was that terrible though. Serbia missed a few free throws down the stretch (Darko included) and I think he was just pissed that they lost a game they were leading for over 3 quarters.

On another note, if you watch a lot of international games you can see why Duncan hated playing internationally. The refs actually call fouls when a defender places their hand on the lower back of the player they're guarding. Duncan did this a lot to Amare but never got called. The refs are also very good about calling reaching fouls and I'd suspect Bowen would've fouled out in 5 minutes had the international refs done the Suns/Spurs series.

I have no idea what made you think of this, but Darko would destroy him easily. He has at least 30 pounds on Dirk, probably a reach advantage, and he's a much more aggressive type of person.

e - when was the last time you heard an American athlete call a ref a mother(you know what) after a game... to the press? I'd say, uh, never. Our guys, as immature as they can be, still hold their tongue as far as that kind of trash is thrown out.

And even then, calling someone a "mother-you-know-what" implies the guy screws mothers literally, not saying I WILL SCREW YOUR MOTHER/DAUGHTER. That's a big difference, regardless of the literal meaning.
