There is little to no cost recovery by getting rid of him this year. As far as doing nothing, what was Detroits YPC? I guess 90 wasn't a factor in that. Cut him in the offseason to save money. Fine. Right now? Idiotic IMO. Who's to say what the effect on the defensive mentality will be when we cut one of the D captains?

No way was I implying we cut him.

Trade him while he has value, there has to be another team as stupid as the Cardinals, who will do ridiculous things for a player with past glory.

Replacing someone who does virtually NOTHING and costs millions, with someone who does virtually nothing for peanuts?

I see some upside here.

The only upside with that logic is fattening the Bidwill's wallets. How about getting some guys who do something instead?

Dockett might be a great guy and a fan favorite for some but his production is like paying for a full course steak dinner and getting a spam sandwich instead.Rather trade him while he has some value instead of being stuck with a aging non-productive tweet king.

but if he is performing so terribly as people describe, does he even have value?

Again. People trying to fatten the Bidwill's wallets. Who are you going to get on the cheap? Jerry Drake? Fred Wakefield? Mao Tosi? Bernard Wilson?

Geez! Pull your head out... it leaves them extra $$ to go out and sign the next guy who will come in and suck.

And hey.. they hit on about one out of 10 guys.. so there is a chance for improvement.

I'm pretty sure that's why I have so much disdain for the guy, he talks a big game, then lays an egg 9 out of 10 games.

You mean the guy who has started 142 games out of 146 the last 10 years?

I'll take the 90 over Jerry Drake, Bernard Wilson, Marcus Bell, Dennis Johnson, Russell Davis, and Fred Wakefield etc.......

I think people simply dont like him as a person because he is not what people make him out to be on the field. hes not a total dominant make you pee your pants force but he is good at his job and can wreak havok. I believe he will perform better and better as the season goes on and will continue to root for him.

DD and Fitz have started 283 games for Arizona. That's amazing for this franchise.

Dockett has no trade value and I doubt the Cards would trade him anyway. Maybe's he playing the role he's being asked and be more of a run stuffer. He's never been a great pass rusher anyway, especially from a DE position.

It makes no sense to me that Levi Brown, who has never ever been close to being among the best at his position, has WAY more people sticking up for him than a Cards player who has actually proven he was elite at DT.

Let's remember: John Madden called him the best player on the field in the Super Bowl.

The Niners staff two years ago called him the toughest player to prepare for.

Dockett slammers can suck it. If you want to carry Levi's jock, you'd better carry Dockett's with your face.

Uh, no. Go read the Levi thread. Some were saying we should never dare to criticize him (has Dockett ever had a game as bad as Levi did against the Rams game on Sept 8th ?) since "he is a Cardinal" and always has been. Also, people questioning whether those criticizing him knew anything about evaluating o-line play. Well, why in the hell would anyone here know anything about evaluating d=line play too?

Dockett had a good game against the Lions, IMHO.

I don't why lately you've been such a big Richard with your posts. Slamming everyone that posts anything you don't agree with & giving the "big laugh" like they are an idiot for not thinking the same way you do. smh

I think both guys are way overrated...DD was & Levi never has been a pretty good player. Just sayin.

I would agree with that. DD obviously has lost a step. But, vilifying him while supporting a player who is worse now, and always has been, is a double standard. I don't like double standards.

Hey, 4 tackles in 2 games is pretty good. :D
And hey, Levi almost has allowed as many sacks with 3 ;)

The winner probably wont be decided until week 16
