I don't know what to say about this team. We have been without Pollock again and it has not stopped this team. I know I rag on Yasmany's defense but last year he hit 31 homers and 83 RBI's. Yet without these guys we have the best record at this point in DBack's history. It is basically the same team Chip Hale had. Do we miss him yet? NO! This whole board went crazy about Gibby's lineups (the man obviously wasn't right) and then Chip made Gibby's lineups look sane. All I heard last year was "Chip's our guy" because he was from U of A. Who cares? He sucked as our manager no matter where he was from. Torey has righted the ship with basically the same players. He benched Peralta and Drury today who had 8 hits the night before and beats the Rockies with 10 runs. I think I will give him a chance, what do you think?
Torey has the golden touch right now.

Magic number is now down to 79. The Rockies have now lost 4 straight, kind of a reminder how quick things can change and how important it is to beat the teams you should! So lets do that again tomorrow!

It is still 80

163 - 47 (Dback Wins) - 36 (Cubs Losses) = 80 We got off somewhere.

Dodgers are never losing again.

Yeah it's almost to the point where the Dbacks shouldn't scoreboard watch them. Still being 2 back from the division lead despite playing some of the best baseball in the MLB,,,, I think it can get discouraging. In reality, there shouldn't be anything discouraging about it as there is no shame whatsoever in coming in second to a team that has a 245million dollar payroll compared to our little 103million dollar group of scrappers.

Just keep the focus on the fact that we're like 10 games ahead of the nearest team that could put us out of the playoffs. Hopefully they cool off, but we cant do anything about it except when we're playing.

The Dbacks media is becoming obsessed with checking what the Doyers are doing when I think it would be wiser to just focus on how insanely fun this team is. I only say this because the post game was a little more subdued than it should be because they were bummed out that the Dodgers came back and won.

Jody Jackson just completely illustrated my point.

They came back from commercial and she's like; The dbacks walk off a win in extra innings "but the BIG story is that the Dodgers came back and won"

No Jody, for Dbacks fans that should not be the big story. It's freaking JUNE!

I agree. The only time we should be worry about the Dodgers is when we play the Dodgers. There are still 86 more games for the Diamondbacks to be played before the end of the season. Lots can happen to both teams between now and then.

And Rockies lost their 6th straight! A great day for the D'Backs overall today. Hopefully tomorrow we really start to bury the Cardinals from the WC hunt! That we do have control of

The last time the Rockies and Dodgers lost on the same day with a D'back win was May 31st. Crazy.

Would you rather play the Rockies or Cubs in a WC matchup if our worthless team who doesn't actually have a chance found a way to make it? I'd have to say Rockies... I only ask because it'd be crazy to see them have an 11 game lead in the WC evaporate.

The D'Backs now have a 10.5 game lead over the last WC spot.

So if they don't win the division, it's a wild card spot?

They added a second wild card spot a few years back. Now the two wildcards team play each other in a one game series. So the D'backs, or any other team for that matter, can have the second best record in the league but if the best record is in the same division then they can be knocked out of the playoffs after one game.

And, the winner of that game plays the highest seeded team in the NLDS. So as of now, the Dbacks would host the Rockies, winner plays the Dodgers.

I'd rather face the Rockies than the Cubs in a Wild Card, although when all is said and done I think the Cubs will overtake the Brewers.
