Davis is getting lit, no control today
Look, I said that the team has holes. Whether that is opinion or fact is debatable, but it doesn't matter. I think that WE (I am a fan of the team as well. I guess not a true fan according to Bickley.) have too many holes to go far. That is my opinion. I said that management did nothing to fix any holes, other than to sign some waiver wire castoffs. That as well, is a fact (maybe not the castoffs part, but hyperbole is my right! ) Maybe you don't like it as well, who knows. Management knows what they have here, and their choice is to ride it out. Teixeira WAS available, who knows what pitchers/hitters our farm hands could fetch, either in the spring or at the deadline. That is not the point. The point is that management stood pat. Nothing to argue. I think we have too many holes. You don't. Fine. If you want me to play fantasy manager, fine. I'll take the offense of the Yankees and the pitching of the Padres. Not gonna happen - but that was never the point. I said that management had the chance to make changes and they didn't. That is NOT debatable - unless you are naming the aforementioned waiver pickups as the "moves". And I am not even saying that management SHOULD have made big moves at the expense of the future, although I can see that the tone was such. My point was that I can't really be surprised at struggles and lapses with the present holes. I don't think that anybody should be that surprised.PLEASE list some players you think the Dbacks should've targeted that were 1. either rumored to be available, or would be possibly logically available, or 2. was a free agent that you thought wasn't overpaid.
You can sit around being abstract saying the Dbacks should've done more, but with out being specific you just sound like you are being a whiner. Sure, this team has a lot of deficiencies, but if in Spring Training, someone told you they'd be in first on September 18th wouldn't you have said "I'll take it!" The fact that the Dbacks are competitive, much less division leading while starting usually 6 or so rookies a game is an amazing feet.
And you call ME negative...Dbacks take the 3-2 after Zito walks in a run, anyone want to bet that Drew grounds into a double play here?
Yeah, got caught wandering too far.
Dang. Lost a run on that. What is with the basic baserunning blunders lately?Yeah, got caught wandering too far.
Go Buc-O's!!Pitt takes the lead in the top of the third. Now bottom of third, 3-2 Pitt.
Too slow... take it away Mulli.
