Funny thing is that people won’t remember a TD throw in the preseason, but people will remember a injury/lingering health issue that happened in the preseason.
To be fair, the latter could later impact the season, the former won’t.

Solid point and I wasn’t thinking about that.

Then I’m lost. Lol
Some guys here really want Kyler go out against the Saints this weekend & try to score & look good doing it. Knowing that they’ll forget about it in a week cause it didn’t matter at all the day after. However, if he were to get badly injured or have a injury that lingers into the regular season after playing in such a meaningless game, everyone will remember that as a big factor on why we missed the playoffs.

Fair enough

But this team always starts the season and games unprepared

After last weeks game there is no switch to hit and it all comes together
I think you’re wrong. With no preseason last year, we flipped the switch and started 2-0. With no DL depth, a weak interior OL, and Murray unable to run with a shoulder injury, our season was derailed. The latter issues have been addressed. Murray must stay healthy & this team could win 10+ games.

I think every single year that passes provides more and more evidence that preseason is bullfeces. It is completely unnecessary. The way it is being coached and being played this year, what's the point. It's mostly watching a bunch of guys who were garaunteed to get cut before preseason started.

The real teams are barely making the field. Why? Because the risk is much higher than any reward. They don't need it!

It has it's purpose. There are only 22 guys that are starters. You need to fill out the 53. Preseason gives you a chance to see guys in game situations. It's invaluable for players like Michael Dogbe, Keesean Johnson, Greg Dortch and Eno Benjamin.

Starter wise it is pointless and they should never play.

One of the big problems is lack of first down yardage and pre-snap penalties.
This offense is too conservative early in games and downs. We probably lead the league in passes behind the line of scrimmage. Our philosophy seems to be “ make them stop the short stuff and then we’ll go over the top”. Too many times we are 3rd and long. Sometimes very long. That’s not a recipe for success.
It’s not working. Just like the hurry up no huddle offense is not working.
KK better see this or we are going to see continued inconsistency.
Maybe lining up KM under center on first down and pounding it a little more will solve the issue. This college level crap of non stop shotgun formation killed the Cardinals on key 3rd/4th and short situations last season. KK is on the hot seat!!

That’s on coaches. And those haven’t changed. So I’m not expecting better.

And yet....people are still blasting the team for Murray not playing.

I'd never play him, but it's good for McCoy to get reps and it's been great to see some of the middle of the roster guys and guys fighting for the roster.

I feel MUCH better about the DBs. Marco Wilson looks like a legitimate NFL player. Eno Benjamin looks like a quality 3rd back. Greg Dortch looks like he can make plays on special teams and as a back of the roster receiver. And Zaven Collins looks like he can be a really good starter at ILB. People making a big deal about the starters are missing the point of this.

Can you guys easily access the replay of PFT on NBC?

If so you should check out this mornings. About 65-70% of the way through they discuss Kliff and Kyler. They rip in to how predictable Kliff is and various other issues. Worth a listen.

Well that’s a you problem. They’re part of the package. It sucks, but you don’t have to buy the package.
True. But I do pay. And I have every right to complain about the atrocious quality of the preseason. I get to complain because I did pay for it.

I also have several complaints about changes at the Stadium and how it has made the game experience worse. Kansas City was my first game back. I have had season tickets since 1994. I had a serious thought of not renewing next season, I disliked it so much. And that has zero to do with crappy, pointless preseason games.
