Do you guys think Bell will get a one-game suspension?

Kobe and Phil didn't seem to think it was that big of a deal.

Kobe also didn't think his ridiculous throat jab to Mike Miller was a big deal either...he said in that post game "I have to show them not to come in the paint."

The league thought it was a two game suspension big deal, however.

At least he is consistant.

Maybe he should have just challenged Miller to join him in the octagon.

Octagon, parking lot, whatever.

Raja and Kobe should fight on pay-per-view in the offseason. Get this crap out of their systems.

Um, you need to settle down. I've never had you on ignore, and I've never claimed to have you on ignore, so you need to read what you're writing and start coming up with an apology, because I never said anything about nonsensical whatever.

Obviously I didn't say that word-for-word? Well, no kidding, sherlock. I never said any of it.

As you may or may not know, I (baltimorer) have been banned. I am relatively confident that once someone catches on that I have simply created a new login name (by dropping the last "r" in my name), I will be banned again. So, if I mispell anything in this, possibly my final post, know that it was because I have to type fast, not because I am not an excellent typist (or is it "typer"? Either way...)

I wasn't serious when I said, "So you HAVE been reading my posts." I would have placed a "smiley" face at the end of that sentence, but I don't feel like any of the options really capture the tone of what I was saying. If they had a "sarcastic, somewhat perturbed but, in the end, smiley nonetheless" face to choose, I would have placed it right next to my sentence to avoid any confusion, but alas, such is not the case.

As far as my ban goes, let me just say that I know how Raja Bell is going to feel when he wakes up tomorrow morning and has a voicemail from David Stern... not very happy. And when it said, "You have been banned for the following reason: None" I got the gist of what was going on, but if there's anybody here that would be kind enough to kind of go into a bit deeper explanation of my ban, I would sincerely appreciate it.

One last thing: I am not therealhardaway. I never denied it before because, in the beginning, I didn't really know what people were talking about; Chap would say something derogatory about my post and then at some point he would slip in something like, "only t.r.h. would think that Shawn Marion's not going to dominate the Lakers next week when the playoffs start" and I wouldn't really catch it. In fact, I actually forgot about the kid before you guys started bringing him up again. So it was never an issue that I felt the need to address. What was I supposed to say? "Nuh uh, you're therealhardaway!" I just ignored it and figured it was a nonissue. As for me knowing who trh was, why would I not? I have been reading these boards since the "backcourt2000" days, and I actually joined as a member in late 2004, which is many months after penny was traded to the Knicks. So it wouldn't even make sense for me to join the Suns board if I was a Penny fan after Penny was traded away.

If I offended anybody, I apologize. But to those people, I would suggest not venturing outside of Phoenix, because there's a lot of people out there like me. And if you do, and you run into someone who thinks that microfracture surgery is a difficult surgery to come back from, or that Raja Bell's closeline on Kobe Bryant was uncalled for, or that David Stern is sitting in his office right now wearing a "Lakers v. Cavs - Game 7, 2006" shirt, or that David West is possibly a very improved player, or that Jason Kidd isn't a horrible basketball player, or... well, anything that would support the other side of an argument that many on this board refuse to hear, I suggest just turning around and walking in the other direction, because you can't ban someone from walking down the street.

The foul was hard.... but good. Finally someone stands up.

Bell will be suspended because this foul was on Kobe, a superstar in the NBA... and for it being a premeditated foul.

But its good to see someone firing up finally, for the first 4 games, the suns look like bullied kids, just brushing off the dust off their shoulders after being taken onto the ground.

James Jones and Barbosa can play and get more minutes, James Jones can cover Bryant for a bit and this can actually make Bryant isolate a lot and try to score 40.

Good job Bell.... now only if the rest can fire up and atleast get physical back.

Bell gets a good job, and Kwame is a thug. Only from Suns fans.

BTW, you are right that it will be a suspension because of it being premeditated...it could have been on Jim Jackson and it would be a suspension.

Great game by Diaw, btw.

So, we need equal treatment for both Bell and Brown, is that what you were saying? Fine with me.:)

Absolutely, IF Kwame had hit him in the face or the neck. Too bad he didn't, and he caught him in his armpit. Which, if I recall from biology classes, is NOT above the shoulder, which is how the NBA regards automatic suspensions, as being above the shoulders.

The neck still is above the shoulders, right? It's been awhile since I've taken a biology class.

I'll say this for all of you who think LA/PHX is a rivalry...you just took a big step closer to making that a reality. The last time a Laker was hooked like that it was Rambis getting the arm of Lurch back in the 80's when we played the Celtics in one of our Finals matchups.

Nope, they both acted like thugs but one did not receive punishment but the other deserves severe punishment? And you call us myopic?

You want to cut off Bell's arm or something...hey, it was a cheap shot, but even I am not going that far. :D

You seem to be saying there were only one reason for suspension, namely something over the shoulder? What biology class teaches you that? heheh. Anyway, once the league let Walton and Kwame go, it'd be viewed as double standard if were to suspend Bell. I guess that's the same reason Kobe and PJ themselves appealed for no suspension of Bell, since they wouldn't want too much of the unfair treatment stigma on their winning this series. The refs already handicapped Suns by giving game 4 to the Lakers on the last seconds bad call, if we just forget all other things for now.

Ok, to be fair Kwame gets a hand cut off; Bell gets it at the elbow. Can we agree?

and we don't really even want to mention what Reggie Evans gets cut off

This is brilliant. I think we finally found a way for the league to stop with cheap shot fouls. :p

The difference is, I've seen both Kwame's foul and Luke's foul countless times in the regular season (though I did say it was fifty/fifty that Kwame would pull a suspension for standing over Diaw..uncalled for).

I haven't seen anything as blatantly ridiculous as Bell's foul though all season...EXCEPT....for Kobe's foul on Mike Miller. And that netted him a two game grounding from the league.

These three fouls are really not comparable. The first two are common NBA fouls, sans Kwame's standing over Diaw like Mohhammed Kwa-Me. Bell's was a thug move through and through, with no contact on the play from the other player (as Kwame's was) or an at least feeble attempt near the ball (as Luke's bonehead Flagrant 1 was).

Apples, Oranges and Peaches.

Peaches gets suspended.

If that's the case, it's going to take a special type of handcuff to haul his ass off to jail
