That this team could finish 10-6 or even 11-5(by some miracle) and still not make the playoffs? As I keep saying, losing to the Lambs in week 1 is going to kill us.

Agreed...but do you realise that we could go 11- 5 without our 1st round pick!!
next season it will be like having two 1st rounders!

Imagine having Cooper this year. Could he have made enough of a difference in the Rams game (lost 27-24) and the Eagles game (lost 24-21) that we win those 2 close games? We would then be 10-3.....WOW!!!

Between Dwash 4 game suspension and losing Cooper before the season it would equate to at least one more win if the team had them right from the get go. It is what it is however and 8-5 ain't too shabby.

It would be like the 2008 season..the Pats went 11-5 and missed the playoffs..people were complaining because the Cards got in with a 9-7 record..

Yeah, that's a shame, but I'm not going to have any regrets about this season, particularly if we finish 10-6. The Bears, IIRC, finished 10-6 last year and missed the playoffs.

This. Even if we lose out I don't see us moving too much draft wise.

I'll be happy with a winning record, regardless. If we can trip up our division opponents on their way to the playoffs, well that will be a bonus. And if we somehow get in, it will be a miracle.

And NE still tied for 1st in the AFC East. This will make the 13th consecutive season that the Patriot have won outright or tied for first in that Division. Yet they haven't won a Super Bowl since 2004.

They must think they're the Atlanta Braves.

If they finished 11-5 with a 3 way tie, they'd make the PO's, i believe. They have the tie breaker over Carolina. SF would be in over the Cards due to the better Div record.

11-5 is possible too if they can beat the Titans and SF; SF being the key one. SEA should have home-field locked up by then and may choose to rest the starters or only play them a quarter.

Actually, I stand corrected. Even with a 3-way tie at 11-5, the Cards get shafted according to espn.

NFC Tiebreakers

  • 5th Seed - Carolina
Wins tie break over San Francisco based on head-to-head win percentage. Division tie break was initially used to eliminate Arizona (San Francisco wins tie break over Arizona based on best win percentage in division games).
  • 6th Seed - San Francisco
Wins tie break over Arizona based on best win percentage in division games.

Agreed-----No regrets here either. This team has already accomplished more than I could have hope for. Watching the offense come together three games ago was icing on the cake for me.

Also agreed - and very happy with the coaching this year. Love the weekly interviews, very smart staff, very focused on improvements. I feel like we could be solid as a football team even during the 'bad' years with this coaching staff.

Imagine going 10-6 or 11-5, not making the playoffs...getting more than one injured 2013 draft pick back, plus some good pics in 2014...and playing a 3rd place schedule.

Imagine making the playoffs and still getting all that other stuff!

Football is a funny thing ain't it? I think this is Brady's best year and yet it doesn't reflect that statwise.

As for our Cards, I'm pretty damn pleased. And more hopeful going into next year than I've been in a long long time.

And yet no one complained when the Chargers got in with an 8-8 record. I do need to add that if we go 10-6 and miss the playoffs, it will be the 2nd time in our history we won 10 games and didn't go to the playoffs. 1976 we finished 10-4. The reason we finished out of the playoffs, losing to Washington twice.

Can't really complain about the Cards season. Other than losing to the Rams, which is understandable being game one on the road and all, the only teams the Cards have lost to are playoff teams in NO, SF, Sea, and Philly. And, the Philly loss was ref induced.

To me, they've had a very impressive season already and can still make the playoffs. We have no idea how it's going to play out. I doubt many had Denver losing at home to SD.
