He'd be lucky to get 4 mill on the open market

I think he's like a boxer who's had a few too many to the head yet wants another round.

He's no longer dominant...and his cheerleading last year cost the club 8 million dollars.

Guess he thought 'If I can make 8 million cheering, shoot I should make 16 mill playing.'
That's just ridiculous

See when I saw it, I read it completely differently.

I read it as him being amazed people were even asking and he was responding, "Ill be in AZ 1way or another rather some people will never know what loyalty is means"

Meaning, he is going to be here, why are people questioning someone as loyal as him, they must not know what loyalty means.

DD will be here next year....They will take his remaining salary, make it guaranteed and spread it over an extra year or two. Just like they did Fitz
The one said whether it's 1 game or 8 games. Making with az or a division opponent. I fully expect him to be here a few years on a reduced salary and think he bleeds cardinal more than anyone else but anything can happen

Ya'll crack me up, getting all worked up.

Honestly I think Dock will stay, but I really think it's a testament to Adub. He taught Fitz and Dock pride in this team. Dock isn't going anywhere, he's part of the old regime. Old school. Championship baby!!!

Hes older, coming off a major injury.

If hes gone its a bigger loss to leadership than actual on-field contribution.

Id rather replace him with Malcom Brown, savage DT out of Texas

I doubt he goes anywhere. I am not sure how you guys are getting that he will be playing on a rival team when he says 1 or 8 games? Am I missing something here?

Yeah, I know that's what I thought about a player who never played under Arians and Bowles.... "That damn Schofield, KNOWING all of our damn plays on defense!"

Wasn't that why the Cards let him go, because he had trouble knowing
All the plays?

Most assume he is referring to a division rival (and I believe that's what he meant to imply), but it could be any of the teams on next year's schedule.

When the subject of money is introduced in negotiations, people naturally get pissed. Remember with Fitz, talks were going "great"; and then money was brought up and that's when talking heads started losing confidence in his return.

Dockett is different because he is a very emotional person and is not afraid to express it via social media. Think about it -- he's being asked to take a pay cut of somewhere around $4-$7 million. Wouldn't that make you upset?

Considering he's made $52 million in his career, a pay cut like that would be a kick in the balls from both a financial and pride perspective.

Considering you took my quote out of context and that I said if *I* made that much I'd be happy, then I have to think you either can't read or are just being a dick.

LOL uhhhn no. He was clearly saying - Do me justice in these discussions or I am going to haunt your ass with the Seahawks or 49ers. And I guarantee you SEA would pick him up in a nano second and DD would take less to go there to win and stick it to us.

Hope it works out. Id let him walk at 9.8 but I would hope we can do something fair and make it happen. Love Dockett.

But this was definitely a veiled threat.

Remember when we all held up signs at training camp up in Flag... "Pay 9 - 0"

Fans should now hold up signs that say... "Stay 9 -0"

Dockett needs to feel love. #stay9-0

Funny you should mention him. If DD can get through the emotions and look at ADubs experience he would think twice about going somewhere where there is no history and no loyalty. Cards are the most likely to treat him with respect in his last playing days even though he would likely view any significant paycut as disrespect.

Hope he doesn't bite off his nose to spite his face. Any other team will kick him to the curb when it suits them. Here, they would honor him and find him a role with the team in his post playing days. He may be looking more at Dansby but coming off a missed season and an ACL he is in a very different position. I think he would be looking at a one year 2.1M Kevin Williams deal anywhere else in the NFL and maybe even here. If I were the Cards I would package it so it looks like more years and give him a way to reconcile his pride.

He's not going anywhere in the division. He's said multiple times that he would retire before going to SF, the Rams are loaded on the D-line and Seattle won't be able to afford him. I'd offer the guy 2 years at 10 million and guarantee all of it. We know what he brings as a leader and I can only laugh at the people questioning his age/coming off injury. I've seen this man work in the offseason with my own eyes and even trained with him a few times. He is gonna come back from this like it didn't happen.

Dockett was the guy who wanted the Cards to rip up his contract, what 3 years early, because he was undervalued? Didn't he make a big stink about his contract in Training Camp a few years ago?

This guy can talk about loyalty to the organization vs. chasing money (re: Dansby) all he wants, but when it comes to money, he has a track record of being anything but.

Hey Darnell, how much did you get paid last year to stand on the sidelines? Wanna give any of that back?
