So, I didn't watch tonight's game, but was it Amare who let Warrick (whom I have wanted on this team for a couple years) go off like a perennial All-Star?

I mean, it was just a few games ago that Landry had a career game against him. We're talking Amare here, so it would be par for the course....

Channing Frye making just under $2M this year is a freakin' steal.

I agree, Frye is more than expected for the salary. The problem is the Suns do not have enough talent and height at the 4/5 to compensate when the Suns shooting and rebounding is off.

Also the Suns bench is looking more and more like a mirage.

His first 8 or 10 were all against Clark or Frye from what I can remember.

I am starting to believe it is the Suns design to play by now. It seems to be their game plan to have for example Amare help out on the perimeter a lot because our perimeter defense sucks. Quiet often he needs to help on the 3pt line and is in no position to rebound because of that.

That is why the Suns need to rebound by comittee. It seems it is by design.

That might explain why we are in the top 10 worst teams in the NBA at defending the 3 again this year. You have one of your biggest underachievers defensively in Amare running out to help defend the 3??? Doesn't seem very logical.

If that was by design...lord help us.

P.S. So much for the other theory about it being Shaq's fault that our perimeter defense sucks. His damn pick and roll defense. ;)

The Suns need to trade Nash and some more people because as long as he is around the foundation stays the same and that is a soft vanilla run and gun team that doesn't rebound well and doesn't defend.

They will never be able to change the mentality of this team as long as Nash is here. This style is what Nash wants and as evidenced by all of his quotes he doesn't mind if they don't win a championship as long as he has fun.

J-Rich needs to be moved for an expiring contract, because by doing that I think we will have enough cap room to go after a premier FA if Amare should leave. Also J-Rich has been inconsistent and not really met expectations. Any expiring contract will do.

Ultimately I think you have to look at trading Barbosa too because I think he can only flourish in a system like ours right now and that hopefully won't continue much longer.

Well that is what Nash is saying.

Besides I don't get the point that some people bring up about Nash being the face of the franchise as a reason he can't be traded.

If he was all that important to the Suns and the fans then why can't he even get in the ASG over McGrady while Amare has like three times as many votes as Nash?

Nash doesn't put the Suns on the map at all, he has no star power whatsoever.

only J-Rich can be trade at this time, my suggestion is take a risk to Dalembert.

I don't suppose you could show us where Nash made these so called comments?

As for the All Star voting, that ones pretty easy. Kobe eats up the majority of the guard votes leaving a lot fewer votes available for players such as Tracy, Steve and Chris Paul. Paul is a great guard even though he's down a bit this year and Tracy plays/played for a team that has 6 or 7 followers in China (maybe even more). And many of them could care less that he hasn't played - he's the name they know best.

I do, however, agree that Nash could be traded. In fact, I think he should be traded if real value is available. Of course, my opinion is based on what I believe is best for the team which is not necessarily what's best for the organization.

Not sure I can find all those articles but Nash's main statement this season has always been that having fun is most important.

"If we are contender that's where everyone wants to be but I think right now I would be happy just to be part of a really positive and optimistic atmosphere. Be part of team that is really on the same page, plays together, plays hard every night and makes the season exciting for one another and for the fans. You may say I am lowering my expectations but I think that's a great place to start.,,,Sometimes its difficult to start playing the band aid game and always just trying to put a band aid over a problem. For me, I would be happy to be in Phoenix on a team that has great energy and chemistry and everyone's pulling together and playing for one another. That for me would be fine and undoubtedly we would be successful with that type of atmosphere regardless of how much talent we had."

"It'd be better if we could hold teams off but we're doing just fine," Nash said after his fourth 30-point game this season. "We were picked to not make the playoffs. For us to have 20-plus wins at this point, we should all be satisfied and just keep building and not put too much pressure on ourselves. When the expectations and pressure rise, it can become a burden and it can be come unrealistic."

Things like that.

I guess I don't read those the same way you do. Note that he does acknowledge that success comes out of enjoying your experience on the court. Hardly suggests though that all he wants is to have fun, rather that it's the first stage to success, IMO.

We all look at this team and see roughly the same thing - a playoff contending team that can't hope for much more than that. Would you really want Steve to suggest to the fanbase that a championship is on the way when clearly we do not have the talent to compete at that level?

Nash didn't need to extend. But he wanted and I guess the management promised him some kind of comfort zone during transition towards rebuilding. With Amare's recovery unknown, Nash was their selling point for tickets. He is having fun amid another MVP talk with all those numbers he has. But the recent struggle of Suns can all be traced back to his dominating the ball while the opponents have figured it out. Plus, to make him most comfortable, we gave Frye tons of playing time, which hurts us in addition due to his defense and uselessness on offense now Nash got figured out.

It's a dilemma only Nash could solve by backing down to accept letting others involved with decision making more, which he loathed last season under Porter.

Amar'e is going to be the starting Center in the All Star game. He jumps Center for the Suns.

Channing Frye is a 3-point shooting Forward (who plays Center on defense -- the less glamorous part of the game to most fans).

Well, there may be a comment or two about MVP/Nash but it's only because he's won 2 others and his numbers are comparable. Nobody in their right mind could really think Nash is in the MVP conversation IMO. He could assassinate Kobe and still be nowhere near the top of the list.

And our recent struggles started when Barbosa came up lame and they continue for the same reason. Leandro is a shell of the player we need him to be and someone with a functional brain ought to sit him down until he can cut and accelerate like he used to.

Nash is not perfect but you seem to watch him solely for the mistakes he makes (and he makes plenty) but I don't think there is a player in the game that could survive that kind of viewing. Find someone who dislikes Kobe and watch a basketball game with that person and you'll know just what I'm talking about.

Nobody controls the ball handling as much as Nash do. The closest I could think of was Iversion back with the 76ers. Currently, Paul and LBJ may be the 2nd and 3rd in this category, but far less dominating the ball than Nash does with the Suns. (Maybe I am wrong with Paul as I haven't seen any games by the Hornets lately. But West often takes over 20 shots.)

He gets the fame when it works and deserves the blame when it doesn't. It's not an outlier for 1 or 2 games. And we can't blame others for not bringing the effort etc.

I think its time to move Amare, this team isnt going anywhere as constructed I think that should be obvious to anyone we have no cap flexability by keeping him and all we do is continue to get older. I think Amare and J-Rich need to go for some younger players and some picks. The destination that has been discussed previously and the one that I think makes the most sense for both teams is Chicago, they have has a horrible year and would love to team Amare with Rose. I think they have the players and picks to make a deal work centered around Tyrus Thomas , who I am still high on, and Deng who I could take or leave and any combination of another player and or picks. Chicago is going to be motivated and so should the Suns. This team is done as a contender as is and wont make the playoffs this year IMO. If we dont make a move like this we are going to be a rebuilding team for a long time. Now is the time while Nash is still playing well and other players want to play with him. Once he is gone it gets much more difficult.

Suns already have a better and cheaper version of Tyrus Thomas in Lou! :p:bang: Lakers fans go home!;):D

Actually hate the Lakers, and if Lou is getting much playing time your team is either really good with alot of big leads at the end of games or really bad, and the Suns are not really good right now. He hustles but has no real skill he is Dan Marjele without a jumper. They are going nowhere with the team they have that is just a fact. Its time to blow this thing up, we gave it another go with what we had its not working out, time to get some youth and draft picks back in the mix. JMHO.

Amare is going to be the starting Center for the ASG because his people were smart enough to make sure thats where he was listed on the ballot to get him the maximum number of votes.

He jumps Center for the Suns because his vertical leap is superior to Fryes.

Neither of those things make him a Center and Im sure you know that. Frye is clearly the Suns starting Center. He may not be a traditional low post Center but that doesn't mean he isn't one all together.

Frye is clearly the Suns starting Center.

How do you decide this? In what way is Frye's game more "center-like" than Stoudemire's? Frye usually is assigned to guard the other team's most dangerous big man, but that's just to cut down on Stoudemire's foul trouble.

When Stoudemire and Frye are on the floor together, I see no rational reason to call one the center over the other. The truth is that neither is.
