I'm betting the Green Bay game gets flexed to Sunday night. The Steelers and the Ravens are in that spot now and considering that Baltimore is done for the year, that game doesn't hold much appeal any more.

NFL rule #1: thou shalt not flex out of the Steelers

Hard to do that when that's a hard hitting rivalry game

Marvin Lewis said the call was a "phantom call" at the end.

I'm sure someone on the field was mic'd up....maybe we'll get a sound byte later in the week.

This team is winning despite making what seems like big mistakes every single game. They are still winning but if the team can clean those up?

How scary good will this team be?!?!!

Palmer signaled to the ref right away that they were faking snap count, they don't call that unless a ref heard it. To bitch about that call is ludicrous anyway we were in field goal range either way. If anything he should just be upset his defense let us go quickly downfield into fg range...

I didn't say I heard it I'm saying his head bounced like he said it lol

I saw his head bounce, his whole body motion right there had the look of someone who was screaming out the snap count.

Plus the Ref was in perfect position 3 feet from the play and he called it right away.

What's Marvins alternative to blaming the refs? (WHich he does on a very regular basis btw) "Um Yeah I lost yet another huge game under the lights, my fault."

Have literally never heard him do anything but complain after a loss.

Man I'm still pumped... still can't get over that last play though. That was the type of typical "shoot yourself in foot" moment that could have been decisive in this game. I can't believe Carson didn't just tell them "A penalty here sends the game to OT with a clock run off, I'm taking a knee so don't move, no matter what... better yet don't move until the whistle blows".

I get that Larsen may have been induced to jump because of the defense simulating, but that is rarely called because the ump isn't position to hear it until the last 5 minutes of the game and they won't call it unless it is 100% obvious and usually they'll mask it a little. Getting the defensive penalty was not a guarantee and in fact I would say it was really lucky it was called even when it is deserved.

This one went our way, but a lot of time they don't. It is usually a lot of little mistakes and bad judgements that have turn into or added up to big problems. If we can clean that stuff up a bit we will be in even better shape than we are.

I digress too much but when Larsen did the "pointing game" after he jumped and I saw the yellow flag hit the ground my heart sank. Fortunately it went our way, but totally unexpected... I mean when was the last time you ever heard that penalty called? I don't think I've ever heard one called in a Cards game and probably a few years or more since I've heard it in a different game.

Crazy stuff.... go cards! On to San Fran!

Exactly. It's a rare penalty n I'm glad the umpire was right there to hear it.

No kidding lol..

Maybe he prefers the McGinniss "one heartbeat" era?

Or maybe it was sarcasm and a reference to how many times this team had been called heartless or front runners or fools gold in these game day threads every time they get down by 7 points.

I don't think it's luck though because Larsen wouldn't have jumped if they didn't simulate the snap. BA said in his post game interview though he wished Larsen would have just stayed in his stance even if the ball was snapped since it was going to be a spike.
