Toss Fotu to the IR? What if he's out a game? That makes no sense.

And even then, sometimes it takes time to figure out how long someone is out. Fotu was moved to the IR on Saturday, which likely means that they didn't know until late in the week.

I do agree that they should have elevated one DL, but they had issues at safety as well.
I have not seen anything that indicates Fotu is anything more than a replacement level NFL player. Yes, you put these types of guys on the IR quickly because the drop off in talent is minimal. Even more so if you are worried about your DL playing high snaps.

If you aren't, that is fine, but can't use one game day injury as an excuse for blowing a 21 pt lead in a single half.

They brought Eric Banks up from the practice squad to replace Collier. He played some.

But obviously Eric Banks isn't the same quality and with Watkins going down early their better guys had to play more snaps.

They could have played less snaps and given more to Banks and Stills, but I'm guessing that like us, they thought that a worse option.
But if the coaches make that choice, they can't use the "tired DLine" excuse IMO. They were up for the entire first half, and then 21 in the 2nd half. Plenty of opportunities to get your starters some rest.

Practice squad guys are generally below replacement level, hence why they are on practice squads. As much as Fotu disappoints, he's better than most practice squads guys.

Maybe so.

The problem is that the cupboard is bare. Good teams that have years of solid drafts, have good backups that are huge dropoffs.

Andre Chachere was terrible against the Giants. He was way out of position on that long pass to Hyatt to open the second half. Hopefully, the next draft can fill some of those holes, but this year is going to be rough.

I think it is a reason, but not the sole reason. Petzing didn't adjust well either and sustain drives. The DB depth players were awful too.

Pick your poison. Tired D line or 4th/5th string D line. The result is the same and you can't coach around it.

I did not see that Fotu was put on IR? The AZ Cardinal website still shows him on the active roster, but has been recently updated with Baker on the IR.

And most NFL teams have to deal with these things. That is why I don't view it as a valid excuse.

There's nothing you would ever see as a valid excuse Chopper, no surprises there.

Most teams do not have to deal with losing 3 of their 5 man rotation, it's a rarity, and if they did they would get a similar outcome to what happened on Sunday.

There's no reality where a team loses multiple DL and performs as normal or can sustain it for a whole game. Just doesn't happen.

This is baloney. It takes more than one or two seasons to build a rabid fan base. One year of winning doesn’t guarantee a full stadium the next. Guys, we gotta be more reasonable with expectations. When an organization has built up decades of “negative goodwill” it takes time to unwind that.

Yeah I agree that here in the Valley the Cardinals will have a hard time building a Large Rabid Fan Base in a short period of time with all of the built up negativity around this team. It will take a deep playoff run to get the casual Cardinal fans back into the stands and buying season tickets. Even then the ticket brokers own so many season tickets that I doubt that the Cardinals will ever truly have an actual home field advantage anytime soon. It will take multiple winning seasons to reverse this trend.

I believe there will always be that core 20,000 Rabid Cardinal fans that we have always had. Unfortunately for them they are going to be outnumber greatly next week and it ain't going to be pretty.

Unfortunately, they are also starting to lose some of the rabid fan base as well, as evidenced by some of the long time guys on here jettisoning their tickets. I don't blame them one bit.

It takes decades of success to build what the eagles have. The suns have it and those are the same people that are - or could be - cardinals fans. So it’s not just bad fans.

The lack of understanding how seasons tickets works is disturbing. If anyone that was going to sell their season tickets no longer bought season tickets guess what would happen? Opposing fans would buy them. It’s not like magically some cardinal fans would appear that weren’t getting the option to buy them before becasue of season ticket holders.

As for BIMs anger about those that wear red for 16 games and blue for one - I get it - but at least they’re wearing red for those other 16 games. Know who would be sitting in those seats if it wasn’t them? Opposing fans.
He lives in another country, where they do things completely differently.

I mean, we're seeing the Rams fan base struggle in SoCal. If you guys think it's bad their, I can 100% say the Rams are probably the 8th or maybe even 10th most popular team in LA.

I went out for breakfast on Sunday and saw two or three people wearing Rams gear...and probably two dozen Niners fans.

It will take a few Arians type runs for the Cardinals to become entrenched. What the Cardinals need to find is a young GM/Coach combo that can have a decade of success.

I thought only Watkins left the game injured? Did another defensive linemen get hurt mid game?

If you are talking about the preceding week, that is a roster management issue. If your active roster can't handle one player going down during a game because it impacts your snap counts for that position, you should carry more players.

First pick in multiple rounds and the other picks we’ve acquired. Yeah it will. Maybe only baby steps initially. But gotta start somewhere.
Yup. Top picks in rounds 1-3 can make a big difference.
As loaded as this coming draft is looking its very likely a top 20 type player falls out of round 1...in a loaded draft we effectively have three 1st's....well, it's a perspective

would have preferred that game be one of the two wins we got this year
Would you really?

I feel like it would have been a copy & paste of that down the road of another L even if the team had won yesterday.

Demercado is dog poop. As are the entirety of our back up RBs. It’s like we purposefully looked for guys with no burst to back Conner.
Yes I COMPLETELY AGREE…. But go back and look during pre season with the number of people that said they were happy with what they saw from him and felt he earned his spot. Lol

But, Fotu was OUT! Actually, was he really ever IN? Other than looking like he was out there on skates and never drawing double teams?

Although, to be fair, he was on pace for 17 sacks this year before he got hurt in the Washington game.

He may have looked good against future insurance salesmen, but holy slowness when the real bullets started flying.

If they wear blue (or fill-in-the-blank other team's colors) for one game and red for all the rest then they are an opposing fan, IMHO. Especially when they call that one team "their REAL team." Get out of here with that hot garbage. (them, not you)
