Dave,

First off, thanks so much for taking the time to answer our questions. I'd like to know how you see our D-line shaking out for the coming season, and do you feel we'll be able to establish some sort of pass rush with the players we have in camp.

Thanks.

Left Guard/Center

Dave,

Ditto on the thanks for this thread and the great work you do.

What's your take on the center/left guard situation?

In other words is the Kendall thing just an experiment?....will he be our 1st team center?.... who then will play left guard? etc.

wragge and grace

I know these guys arn't the priority in camp, but how do they look? I haven't heard anything on Wragge. The only thing on Grace is that he got "taken to the cleaners by Bryant". Why is the Cardinal coaches high on these guys? Anything you can see while watching camp? Thanks Dave

Dave, I think you bring a great enthusiasm to the games & really enjoy your broadcasts!

You are doing one hell of a job here!

Q: Can you tell any difference in the way the DL is attacking the ball in the one-gap scheme compared to the two gap?

I know pads aren't on yet, but is there a seeable difference?

Thanks!

Kevin

Here's some lobbers:

Q. Where do you stay during training camp? - Hotel or Dorm or tent, etc?

Q. Who is your roommate, if any?

Q. Did you get hazed last year (your 1st camp I believe?)

Q. What type of hazing is going around this year @ camp?

Thanks!

Thanks again.

He looks okay. He shows flashes of great quickness and athleticism, but he needs to be more consistent.

Fellow Cards and Cuse Fan here in CO Via Syracuse. Well Kinda I guess, graduated 1991 from UTICA COLLEGE of Syracuse University. Unfortunately Cuse didn't have my major @ the main campus. We called ourselves the Tangerines:D

Anyway, since this is a Cards board here goes (yes I'm greedy w/ the questions):

1. Whats with the Syracuse connection and the Cards??

2. Who do you think will surprise this year? Rookie/ Vet??

3. Do you do play by play for the scrimmage??

Awesome job last year.

Thanks in advance. Leaving Wed night for training camp. Can't wait.

Dmoney,

I always have plenty of time for a 'Cuse fan. I don't know if there is any conscious connection, but I do think Quentin Harris has an excellent chance of making this team. The surprise of camp so far has been OT Reggie Wells, a sixth round pick out of Clarion. Marcus Bell has also looked very good to me.

Yes, we will be broadcasting the scrimmage this weekend!!

Take care,

Dave

Hey Andy. The Cardinals have to establish a pass rush, or the defense will be in trouble. I think it's an improved group. I'm interested to see Calvin Pace tomorrow morning at practice. Vanden Bosch put on 20 lbs, and is getting a good challenge from LT Reggie Wells in practice. The system up front is more aggressive, which suits the strenghts of the players we have on the d-line.

I think moving Kendall to center is a great decision. Cameron Spikes is the LG, giving the Cardinals the opportunity to put the best 5 linemen on the field at the same time. This is not just an experiment.

It's going to be hard for guys like Grace and Wragge to make the team. Even vets like Starkey and Dishman aren't guaranteed spots. The O line is deep this year. Roundtree's unfortunate injury could open a spot for a guy like Grace.

You guys are going to give me a big ego with all of these compliments. Seriously, I do appreciate the kind words. Kevin, I do see a more aggressive approach up front on defense. They will still two-gap, but it won't be as much read and react as in previous years.

JFK--great picture.

I stay in the dorm, and I don't have a roomate, but Mistler thinks he is. No hazing last year. Mistler's too slow to catch me.

Take it easy.

Omo is just saying that because he thinks he's getting a 10 percent cut. Seriously, this is great. I always enjoy interacting with the fans. Keep em coming, and I will answer each one when I can.

Dave Pasch forgot to mention the great prank that he and John Mistler played on me.

On the eve of the first practice, they came into my room and set my clock ahead 4 hours. When I woke up, the clock read 10:02am. I thought that I was late for the first practice! I ran out of my room and was halfway to practice when I looked at my cell phone and it saw that it was only 7am. When I arrived at the chow hall for breakfast, they were lauging their asses off.

They got me good.

I hope so, but ESPN is reporting that it might be a while.

Exactly. But I would have figured that Darling would play OLB and Hayes would play ILB. Hayes was inside at Pittsburgh, and I believe Darling was outside with Philly and New York (?).

Hayes is about 235 lbs, while Darling is about 250. Darling is better suited on the inside, and Hayes on the outside--for now. Hayes could be moved inside down the road.
