cards win 17-16, but i didn't see much that i liked

quarterback play has sucked,
where the heck is fitz? is he even playing?
offensive line sucks
defense continuosly gives up the third downs,
what happened to redmond? is he even playing?
if this is supposed to be our tuneup game for the regular season, it may be a little rough,
after we get our starters back on the o line its gonna take some time to gel,
1 and 3 to start the season ain't out of the question

other than a horrible INT pass, Warner has been okay

He's hurt don't worry the injury seems to be minor

offensive line sucks

Agreed

defense continuosly gives up the third downs

playing somewhat soft coverages while going on blitzes. It'll happen. Defense has still been solid though (Oakland has a ton of offensive talent)

what happened to redmond? is he even playing?

Dislocated his shoulder during a return. He's gonna be out a while

Preseason is always tough to go by because coaches take a great deal of the playbook and game plan away. No need to panic yet but there are things on offense we really need to work on

Needed the work, according to the broadcasters. Makes sense considering that he only threw 6 passes last week

Oakland was 3 for 10 on 3rd down for the first half. What game are you watching?

The one thing that I saw that I liked;
After the Berry fumble recovery we came out and attacked right away, and scored.

we didn't do that last year.

Well I think some of that came as a result of not having a Raider within a 5 yard radius of Golliday :D

There have been plenty of postives:

- Defense with 4 sacks, 4 fumbles, 2 ints (1 returned for TD)
- Solid play by Rolle 8 tackles (highest)
- Nice runs by both JJ 10/31 yrds and Shipp 3/26 yrds
- Decent play by QB except for 1 int considering the crap OL
- Solid play by Q 4/41 yrds and BJ 2/29 yrds

Its a work in progress... It will continue to get better as we approach season.

That's what I figured would happen, Gallery has really struggled so far in preseason.

cards win 17 - 16, i have been a fan for a long time, and preseason doesn't mean much, as long as you can keep your starters healthy, looks like we couldn't do that tonight,
but i don't think i have ever felt bad about a win until tonight,
i have really high hopes for the season as we all do, but talk about a meaningless victory, yuck

I know it was an ugly win, but you must not have a good memory of other preseasons. We've been much, much worse off after three games many times. I've seen nothing in preseason to discourage my opinion that our defense has a chance to be real good. Yeah, it's only one unit to be optimistic about, but that's one more than we usually have.

yes i agree our defense has enormous potential, docketts injury is a concern, and rolle got a real test tonight against moss, and had some rookie moments,
their was one play where moss came of the line on a slant and just smoked rolle, if kollins hadn't led moss a little too much it would have been a touchdown,

Didn't see the game, but I listened to the first half. Here's what I think:

1. The Raiders D is supposed to be horrible and our O didn't do much against it. That's worrisome.

2. Injuries: I hope these are mostly preventative measures taken by holding guys like Fitz and Dockett from playing. Redmonds doesn't seem to be minor at all. That's worrisome, too.

3. The defense sounds like it did pretty great. That's a high-octane offense they contained (although, it sounds like there were at least two dropped TD passes). That's encouraging.

4. The pass rush sounds very, very fast. That's also encouraging.

5. Naming Arrington the starter this early bugs me even more after tonight. Sounds like he did next to nothing with the exception of one run. Meanwhile Shipp seems to be breaking off long runs with regularity. I'd like to see what the O looks like with Shipp running on first and second and Arrington coming in on 3rd downs.

I'm sure he will be fine. When you see the tape you will see that there were very few running lanes.

Doug Plank commented that the raiders were stuffing the gaps on run plays... basically daring us to pass.

Once Kurt got something going with Anquan and BJ... JJ ripped off a nice run.

At some point in time a RB should be able to slip a tackle and break out of a pack or make something out of nothing. I have seen Arrington do that all of one time this preseason.

He really needs to get better. As does the O-line.
