I rather go after Bradford and then a draft pick.

Cousins will swallow all our cap, and wont leave us room for FA wr's and OL which we need

I was only talking about Teddy in that post.

I would imagine we bring in someone that we think can win games. I think throwing out names is a bit short sighted right now considering we dont even know who the offensive staff will be. Keim better already know, so this is going to be a really interesting offseason to follow.

If Teddy is healthy, Vikings would be fools to lost him.

Norv Turner knows Teddy well. Wilks will get input from Turner. If Teddy is healthy and available, he is the cardinals QB in 2018.

Bridgewater can best be described as Spaghetti:

He has the arm of a wet noodle.

He has the frame of a dry piece of spaghetti

He throws up meatballs for the opposing team

“Wait and see what happens on draft day” isn’t acceptable when we don’t have a QB on the roster. For as crazy as this board went about the coaching search, can you imagine how crazy we’d react when the team says “well we’re gonna roll with (insert backup) and hope someone falls?”

lol... I mean in regards to a rookie. Of course we will sign somebody before then. exactly who we sign will tell us rather or not they thing a good rookie will be there when they pick.

I do not see us going quarterback in the first round and who we sign as having potential to be a franchise QB in free agency. Cousins is the only guy again with that perception. If it was up to me, I would hope for Mayfield to fall to us (or move up a few spots if he becomes close to our pick) or take Lamar Jackson right there and then at fifteen. That is just my personal preference of the QBs in this draft and we all have our own. The QBs in free agency I would go after would be Taylor and Bridgewater (and maybe Alex Smith) but I think they are going to go after Cousins. Hell, maybe it works out and you damn right I would be happy with a cousin and being a monkey's uncle but I want our franchise guy to be in this draft :newcards:

Cousins does nothing for me, plus no way he's worth the kind of money he'll command, imo

I don’t know what the cap ramifications would be if we were to sign Cousins. But I do know this would not be a “bridge” move and could solve. Our qb situation for years to comes. He can run. He can throw all the routes and he is firery. He would make us instantly credible. You’d be hard press to name 10 qb’s better than him.

I get that, but it's just as easily painted as a lack of proactivity. Are you content with Sam Bradford and (just using a 3rd QB example here), Mark Sanchez, hoping that we're going to see "our guy" available at 4-5, and blow our entire draft on him (beating out the Broncos and Jets)?

I don't think you can sell that to the fanbase.

I think that to sign QB Kirk Cousins the Cardinals would probably have to restructure or release Tyrann Mathieu, Deone Bucannon, Mike Iupati and Jared Veldheer.

no.
However I have confidence that if SK signs Sam Bradford...he will be trading in to the top five of the draft. There is no way SK would expect SB to start for more then a couple games.

I’d say doable. If players above mention aren’t willing to restructure then they can’t be here.

Re: Bevell

Any OC who has gotten his offense to two Super Bowls and has developed an MVP candidate QB (annual Pro Bowler) deserves respectful consideration.

Um yes...but he had Russell Wilson. Can’t complain. At least we are not looking at A high school coach.

Yes, who was drafted in the 3rd round because he was considered too small for the position. It took real guts to commit the offense to him right from the get-go.

That’s not true. If Palmer was coming back,he’d have been 20+ mill cal hit. I never worry about cap because there are ways to finagle around it.

Cousins would be the best option.

Exactly. We could structure his deal so that his cap goes up in year 2 after Fitz retired (and freeing about $12 million in cap space).

Whether we want him or not is up for debate though

Exactly. Palmer would have killed us and is years and years older. We could make Cousins work.

1. Tom Brady
2. Aaron Rodgers
3. Russell Wilson
4. Cam Newton
5. Drew Brees
6. Carson Wentz
7. Ben Roethlisberger
8. Matt Ryan
9. Matt Stafford
10. Derek Carr
11. Alex Smith
12. Jared Goff
13. Jameis Winston
14. Philip Rivers
15. Dak Prescott

I'd rather have any of these guys over Cousins & there's a lot of other guys beyond that... Dalton, Flacco, Deshaun Watson, Mahommes, Bridgewater, Bradford, etc

Unfortunately, only a few of those guys will be available this offseason. I'd rather have Alex Smith or whatever Minnesota QB doesn't get resigned. It would be pretty messed up though for Alex Smith to get replaced in KC by Mahommes & then come to the Cardinals who also draft a 1st Rd QB (Mayfield or Jackson) that they expect to start in 2019.

Dak Prescott is pure trash as a passer. Cousins is way better than Prescott as a pocket passer.

Man, I'd love to know your criteria behind these decisions, considering Cousins' performance over the past three years. Especially regarding the guys after your list.
